3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
I had this at the Great Arizona Beer Festival in Phoenix. It feels like a pilsner. It is nicely dry hopped.
Tap at DE. Damn another ho hum pale. Light malt, cereal, bready notes, butter. Same flavors. Not really all so great. Good view of the ASU staduim though. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAY 1, 2011
Poured up on tap at Dave’s Electric brewpub with clear copper body and near white head. The aroma seems malty, a bit roasty with malts and a bit earthy with a sense of citrus way off in the background. The tast begins pretty neutral and then picks up a mild level of roasted malts. To midway spicy hops come to the surface and are then joined by earthy hops into the finish. Nice spicy, earthy amber. Clear amber color/ beige head. Mild, but fresh floral, ganja bud aromas. Medium bodied. Decent flavors of lightly sweet, grainy caramel malt, with a nicely bitter hoppy finish--not bad-- cheap (5861) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 28, 2010
Bottle thanks to Bavarian Purity, great trader! Smell is quite candy sweet, it alarms me that this may be quite strong. No sign of visible CO2. Hazy brownish yellow. Fairly flat on the palate. Fruity at times. Does not seem to show alot of alky even tho this is 7%. Goes down way too easy. Starting to get some leather in there er somethin. Quite rich and somewhat thick on the palate. As session continues, becomes more oppressive. Don’t really think this belongs inthe APA style. Do I sense a little tartness inthere? Finish is flat and smooth. Tastes like it was aged and served on cask. hellbilly (3249) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - MAR 1, 2010
on tap at the tempe pub 12/27/2009.
clear gold pour with a white head which leaves a bunch of lacy foam on the glass.
it smells of orange, mild pine, spiciness, malt sweetness, florals and some skunky nobles... quite soapy and floral.
the flavor is pretty much the same... malty yet very dry and crisp on the palate. not a whole bunch going on but there is nothing else wrong with it.
it pairs very well with spicy food and conversation... 6/3/5/3/13/3.0

Enjoyed on tap at the new Tempe brewpub location. Poured a light amber color with a slight haze. Very thin head. Bright citrus on the nose. Palate has a hop focus and citrus zest, but still well within a basic amber ale category (not a hoppy IPA). Easy drinking but nothing inspiring about the beer. Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a one finger beige head that results in spotty lacing. The nose is caramel malt and earthy hops. The taste is caramel, grain and light citrus hops. Medium bodied. Wasn’t sure what to expect on this one but it’s not bad. FlacoAlto (4182) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - MAY 31, 2008
A vigorous pour produces a fat-one-finger thick, light tan colored head. The beer is a hazy amber color that shows a bit of a copper hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells of spicy hop and stale malt. It almost has a cinnamon note to it that goes well with the predominant caramel notes. A very light aroma compared to most beers.Gregis (1281) - Stilwell, Kansas, USA - MAR 5, 2008
Sweet and caramelized up front, the beer finishes with an herbal hop flavor as well as a lightly biting bitterness. There is a certain spiciness running through the flavor profile here, it is almost like black pepper, with even a bit of a wood-like note to it. This has a light body to it, yet has a touch of heft to it that just clings to the palate.
Not a bad beer, just not all that great either. Tastes a bit like a standard Amber ale.
Pours a dark orange-brown (like a strong tea) with a creamy, pitted, beige head that deposits wispy lace on the glass. The nose is more like an ESB than an APA: dry, biscuity malt with earthy hops in the background. Light to medium-bodied and creamy on the tongue, transitioning to a bitter, lightly salty, and somewhat metallic finish. Again, the flavor is more like a well-hopped ESB than an APA, but I like ESBs. This is a solid session brew from the guys in Bisbee. SuperDave (1932) - Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA - FEB 18, 2008
UPDATED: JUN 26, 2008 Pours a medium hazy amber collor with a foamy light tan head. Aroma is sweet hops and caramel, with some citrus. Flavor is similar, but somewhat weak. Finish is slightly bitter and watery, but quenching. As the name states, OK
