COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep ruby in color, Red Giant contains caramel malt sweetness combined with significant hop bitterness and leathery aroma, resulting in a balanced flavor profile. Not a singular beer, Red Giant’s complexity offers a new flavor with every sip.

This beer is amber with an off-white head. A decently hoppy aroma; mostly floral in nature with a few herbal and pine notes. Fairly sweet as well with toffee and bread. The flavor is much more bitter than I had expected. Not a ton of hop flavor, but some pine and a bit of an herbal note. The typical toffee and bread sweetness is present as well.

My first beer from this brewery! Clear ruby color, steady off-white head, lace. Light caramelly nose is also berryish. Medium-bodied. Feels lighter than 8 %. Caramel, some alcohol, sticky hoppyness. Lingering, a bit harsh and bitter aftertaste.

I had high hopes for this beer as I heard many good things.. however it fell a bit flat for me, especially given the competition in this price range ($14-16). It is a middle of the road amber ale.

Pours brownish red with a thin white head. Smells of resiny hops, some sweet malty undrtones. Tastes velvety with some nice resiny hints and a spicy finish. Enjoyable.

Sample pour after an element tasting. Pours out a nice tan/red hue, off white head. Aromas are a bit sweeter, somewhat floral, lighter fruits, some pine bitterness. Palate is nothing exciting, but I think it follows the nose quite well. Finish comes up slightly short, but the entry to mid floral and citrus is decent. Not too bitter as it fades to the malty short finish.

Borresteijn (7608) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - DEC 18, 2011
On tap at Beer Temple. Dark reddish amber colour, creamy off white head. Aroma of varnish, alcohol, phenols, liquorice root, dried fruits. Flavour is light sweet, light floral, phenolic, sharp, light fruity, dried fruits, dry earthy bitter finish. Medium bodied. Not very refined, but tasty enough.
