On tap @ Elevation 66. Just about black in color with a khaki head. Nose is big on the coconut and vanilla. Lots of roast, some ash, and coffee. Decent chocolate as well. The flavor is nicely bitter but does have a bunch of coconut. Somewhat ashy and earthy. Lots of coffee grounds. Sort of an ashy finish to it. Not bad. ngeunit1 (1555) - Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 3, 2012
A - Served a ruby-brown color with a finger of frothy brownish head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some thick lace.
S - Aroma is a mix of strong chocolate nibs with some chocolate malts with some milk sweetness and coconut. There is just a hint of dark fruit as well.
T - Starts off with some sweet milk chocolate with some roasted dark malts and a bit of dark fruit and nuttiness. Through the middle, more chocolate malt flavor comes through with some sweet coconut. The finish is a mix of chocolate nibs with some roasted malts and a hint of booze.
M - Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a warming and sweet finish.
D - Very drinkable. Really nice balance of flavors with the big chocolate flavor and the sweet coconut and other flavors.
