3/11/2017 -- from notes: 12oz bottle, shared with Steph. Toasty, musty, kind of dirty, little chocolate, nutty, kind of papery. This bottle was a gift and I don't know how old it is. Light to moderate bitter, pretty dry. Alcohol well hidden. Solid, nice to enjoy with my pad thai. solidfunk (9729) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - SEP 16, 2017
Light florals and some citrus. Musky basement resin vibe. Dead yeast like mushroom stir fry. Light tangy finish. Tap at 14 in Denver. Ibrew2or3 (8912) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAR 4, 2017
12oz bottle pours with a clear amber colored body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up plums and figs and dates with some molasses and malts in the background. The taste delivers similar notes with spicy sweet earthy dates, plums, raisins and figs with brown sugar and candi sugar filling in the gaps. Pretty nice but it lacks the depth, richness and softness I enjoy in the style. jsnicholas (709) - Woodinville, Washington, USA - FEB 7, 2017
Bottle (12oz About 10 months old). Brown with off white head. Bobble as expected. I do not remember the aroma, so must not have been strong. Taste mostly camel and sugar. Pretty good. GTAEgeek (2497) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - JUN 2, 2016
12 oz. bottle, about 2 months since bottling. Pours a beautiful, dark, ruby color, with a medium, off-white, bubbly head. The nose is raisins, caramelized sugar, anise, plums, bittersweet chocolate, and some light hickory smoke and pine sap. Sweet and sugary flavor, with a light bitterness that leads to a dry finish. Medium to heavy body, somehow effervescent but not fizzy, velvety, and a little acidic and harsh. This is a lovely, aromatic, complex, and aggressive beer. Very sharp and rough in its youth; I could see some age smoothing off the edges.

Woody amber mahogany body, with an ok head. Not much aroma, but the body is sugary and characterized by watered down esters accompanied by candi malt. lownote (585) - Austin, Alabama, USA - DEC 1, 2015
Honey aroma with some caramel background. Not as strong as I was expecting. Pours brown with a puffy white head that fades moderately slow. Taste is malty. Good Belgian yeast flavor, little honey flavor. The malt is caramel a bit but mostly just a candy sugarness. Light bit of bitter, tiny bit cloying. Good thick Body. Was hoping for more malt complexity. zoucrew102 (2236) - - NOV 26, 2015
Bottle. Dark fruit aroma with notes of Candi sugar, Belgian yeast and honey. Pours dark caramel colored with a thin tan head with no retention and minimal lacing. Starts with sweet dark fruit flavors with Candi sugar. Finishes smooth with some spicy Belgian yeast and just a touch of honey. Excellent quad!
