Dark Ruby brown with two fingers of head. Aroma of alcohol, molasses, and dark fruits like prune. Much sweeter than I expected and smooth. You can taste the alcohol/bourbon but it’s not overpowering. Texture is bit syrupy. Flavors of molasses, raisins and prunes.

Spring 2013 bottle @ home, via my rot box. Pours a murky reddish brown appearance with a medium sized brown head. The aroma has mild whiskey, caramel, chocolate covered bananas, pears, apples, vanilla, oak, and some booze. Body is a little thin. A little bit of tartness which is a little weird. Mild booze, lots of fruit (pear, berry, apple), caramel, and tiramisu in the flavor. Pretty unique with a lot of fruit but all too thin. Ok.

From a bomber. Pours a dark brown and makes a like brown medium head.m, which dissipates quickly. Aroma is of raisin, plum, alcohol, and malt. Taste of dark fruits, yeast, and big malt. Hints of chocolate, too. A very good quad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from a bottle. Very deep velvety red color, almost purple. Smell is based around bourbon with some tartness from dark fruit catching for me. Taste is crisp with cherry and grape notes. Feel is pretty smooth with light carbonation and a noticeable alcohol heat on the finish. Overall solid quad. Flavor improves as the beer warms.
