Pours a deep black from the bottle with fluffy tan head that dissipates to leave wispy lace. Aroma of dark burnt sugar and roasted malts with a hint of vanilla barrel and chocolate sweetness. Taste is molasses and dark roast coffee notes over the slightest hint of barrel, booze is well hidden. Decent, but nothing spectacular. maley1 (1301) - Calgary, CANADA - JUN 25, 2017

Bottle. This is a sweet and bourbon-y stout. If that is your game than this is one to seek out. For me this is a solid stout but should be pared with other sweets or it will throw everything out of whack. dpitinga (138) - Mountain View, California, USA - SEP 5, 2016
So if you know Colorado, you know that Poncha Springs is in East Bumf*ck (actually it’s not far from Salida, which has some of the prettiest Victorians in CO). This is one of the best black beers that they make in this state and that’s saying a lot given Call to Arms, Bull & Bush, Avery, etc. Gerbeer (4354) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 7, 2016
