On tap at Hops and Pie poured a hazy amber with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of oak, vanilla, carmel, fruittiness, light honey and a hint of spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of oak, vanilla, fruittiness, carmel and light honey with a crisp dry lingering oak finish. Great aroma, cider like appearance. Can tell that it was aged in old oak chardonnay barrels.

750ml in a Trip Karm glass. Beautiful Chardonnay driven oak on the nose. Nice balance of belgian yeast and hops, a little funk too on the palate. Very unique as I’ve experienced many chardonnay barrel aged brews, but none that showed as much chard as this one. Excellent. UDBeernut (2883) - Saint Johns, Florida, USA - FEB 5, 2014

Golden colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, mild gluelike sweetness as well as some alcohol. Flavour is fruity, gluelike sweetness, some funky notes as well as mild oaky notes to it.
The pour is a rusty auburn color with a moderate, pillowy, white head which is somewhat diminishing and leaves tight lace rings. The nose is oak dominant with lots of vanilla, plenty of earthy tones, some orange blossom, very toasty, oak shavings, and and some caramel. The flavor is similar with plenty of shaved oak, sweet vanilla, toasted caramel, almonds, light orange notes, and an earthy presence throughout. The palate is medium, silky, round, drying, and soft to lively. The finish is drying, slightly tart with orange, some bitter earthy notes, and still the oak notes left on the tongue. A very nice beer to drink and very oak dominant. The base beer is hard to distinguish but does balance the beer with some tartness, light bitterness, and dryness to match the dry oak notes. I am beginning to love this brewery.
