I had no idea there was a style here called American Dark Lager. 12oz bottle scooped up in Columbus. Cherry brown body, thin oily beige head. Sweet caramel chocolate aroma. This is a Dunkel all the way, or at least a Schwarzbier. Pretty decent, not mindblowing, sort of has a soapy bite to it for a lager. Overall pretty enjoyable offering. jsquire (4674) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - SEP 17, 2012
On tap at the brewpub. Deep amber color with a sticky thin beige head. Light sweet caramel nose. Sweet beer with some toasted grains, pit fruit and raisens. Dark brown sugar and a clean finish. Nothing wrong with this beer but not that interesting. TheOrange (479) - Kent, Ohio, USA - APR 21, 2012
nice deep mahogany our with a large creamy tan head. The aroma is oily almost like a big Belgian.
The flavor is deep like belgian. There are honey and clove hints through out. Pretty good. A nice winter beer.

Aroma- Roasted malts, Slight chocolate and caramel
Appearance- Clear brown, thin off white head, little lacing
Flavor- Lightly bitter, nice roasted malt flavor, some chocolate and caramel flavors. steelhead3686 (269) - Jacksonville, North Carolina, USA - JAN 23, 2012
Pours a very dark brown with a large white head. This brew has an aroma that is mostly a roast malt with some hints of chocolate. The taste is underwhelming as is the body and texture. This beer impersonates a dark full bodied beer with its looks, but it is as thin and as your typical lager and almost not much better when it comes to taste. I will continue looking to Elevator for beers but I will not be getting this again.

on tap-pours a tan head and brown color. Aroma is dark malt-chocolate, spice. Taste is sweet dark malt-chocolate/roasty, spice hops that cuts the malt from mid to back palate. Drake (14332) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 29, 2011
12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market Dublin/Columbus. Pours a clear reddish brown with a large frothy tan head. Above average head retention and decent lacing. Aroma of dark malts, faint roasted malts and chocolate, and a bit of plastic. Faint herbal hops. The taste is chocolate, nutty notes and a bitter hop finish. Thin-medium bodied. Decent. 12oz bottle. Nice, clear brown color, minimal head, some lace. Good, toasty, nutty aroma. Light, bitter hops evident. Just a bit of chocolatey sweet coffee stout taste. Crisp carbonation, a good crest in the flavor. Nice, malty aftertaste. weihenweizen (4209) - Charleston, West Virginia, USA - JUL 31, 2011
Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours medium brown with ruby/amber hightlights and small beige head. Body is a little thin, small lacing, and watery texture. Taste is roasted malt and hops in the finish. Just average. zimm421 (63) - Ohio, USA - JUL 4, 2011
Dark brown with some light coming through the color. Has an off-white head, decent retention. Smells of roasted malts, yeast and hints of chocolate. Taste is similar with some nice hop balance. Good sting on the tongue from the carbonation. Lighter bodied than I expected, but extremely drinkable.
