Draft at Elevator. Poured clear reddish brown color with an average fizzy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate nutmeg spicy sweet aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky texture. Medium spicy balanced flavor with a medium sweet spicy finish of moderate duration. Dogbrick (13789) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 27, 2009
Several mugs from a 5g keg, and my 400th Ohio beer. The beer is a mostly clear brown-amber color with a medium foamy beige head that diminishes steadily. Spice and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of sweet malt and spices, piney hops and a bit of fruit. The finish is sweetly spiced wit a mild hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall. alexsdad06 (10821) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - APR 4, 2015
Bottle from notes. Pours a clear deep reddish amber color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma and flavor have sweet caramel malts and big holiday spices, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, hints of tart fruit, some metallic character, this was a bit too much about the spices and not everything else. 10oz on tap at the brewery. Clear red brown color. Thin ring of off-white head. Some dots and ropes of lace. Kind of spicy, a bit too spicy for me. Caramel malt. Kind of toasty. Medium body. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. Kind of slick. Moderate to bigger sweet taste, sort of a spicy rough edge to it. Not a great, balanced winter ale. Just caramel and spice, pretty much. 8.6%? Drinks like 7% or less, doesn’t seem to have that kind of body. Just a big, spicy roughness, over top of a mildly syrupy sweet malt base. douglas88 (9634) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 8, 2012
12 ounce bottle, a cool snowman on the label. Pours a dark copper color with a medium beige head. A sweet caramel and spiced candy nose. The flavor is very nice; sweet caramel, light apricot, some spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg, nothing too huge. Smooth and tasty.

Poured on draft into a pint glass. Aroma is spicy with notes of cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. Appearance is an amber with a beige head. Taste is spicy and that’s about it. It will definitely warm you up. cheap (6090) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 10, 2015
From a bottle, this stuff smells pretty decent in a mild tart wild way. Taste is a big spicy punch in the palate. Lots of over the top spices laced with strong medicine beer. Personality is so strong you’d never notice it was carbonated. DialSquare (5133) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 10, 2015
On tap at the brewery. Amber pour, white head. Aroma of christmas spice, brown sugar. Tastes of maple, caramel, chistmas spices, roasty, light bitter. jsquire (4601) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - JAN 18, 2015
Dark reddish amber color with a creamy khaki colored head. Nose of ginger and a bit of tart fruit. There is some caramel sweetness in this with a pinch of tart fruit, acidity, and a finish of dusty nutmeg. The ginger is there in the finish. The ABV is present but not intrusive. Not my favorite of the spiced Christmas beers.
