Bottle at home, thanks to Deanso for the farewell gift! Slight hazy amber with fizzy head that lasts just half a minute. Apple juice, moldy herbs, quite bready, grass that farmers keep during the winter for cow food. No idea what it’s called in English, but it has this aroma of fermenting herbs/grass. Light cardboard and dust with a lingering aftertaste of dried apricot. Medium sweet and bitter. Low carbonation. Drinkeable.

Nice refreshing beer. Aftertaste initially quite good, but then a faint but unpleasant bitter tone arises.

33cl bottle. Thin creamy white head. Clear light amber pour. It’s an ok amber but doesn’t stand out from the crowd.

Bottle from Carrefour Aywaille. Full 33cl sample. The aroma has strong caramel, bit biscuity malts, some oranges, bit clove. Hazy, orange coloured beer with an off-white, thin head. The taste is light bitter, light-moderate sweet, has some fruitiness, caramel, some toffee. Relative dry finish. Actually prretty nice.

Strong amber from a young and sympathetic Wallonian beer company, apparently brewed at Val-Dieu. Thin, milky white head, pure ’clean’ amber colour. Aroma of nut-like malts, red apples, caramel, curaçao but unfortunately faint hints of DMS (red cabbage) and H2S (sulphur) as well. Light fruity taste, dryish with mellow caramel maltiness, somewhat thin mouthfeel and insufficient hop bitterness in the finish, a bit ’empty’. More work needs to be done to lift this up, but I am confident these people will manage to do that and I am determined to keep following these beers.
