Not a massive fan of this. Quite thin and bitter, some roasted malty notes but nothing to write home about. Would be OK for a session. jjsint (3093) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - MAY 12, 2016
Bottle from Cambridge Wine Merchants, Cherry Hinton Road. Dark brown, clear. Not a lot of head but some visible carbonation on the top. Smell of malt, some woodland berry, earthy hop. Sweet chocolatey taste with a slight fruity bitterness at the end. Slight body. A pretty good mild. ManVsBeer (10448) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 15, 2016
Bottle from Waitrose, Stevenage. Very dark with next to no head. Mild with its lightly sweetened dark malts in its taste, with a few roasted ones available in its nose. daniele (9063) - ITALY - JUL 24, 2015

Bottle. Dark brown with a very thin fading light brown head. Nose is licorice and then light hoppy grass notes. Bit of licorice in the mouth, but ultimately quite thin. Finishes with a metallic zing, but nothing lasting and memorable. peponi (1861) - Hannover, GERMANY - SEP 20, 2014
Aroma: dark malts, coffee. Appearance: clear black color, beige head. Taste: low bitterness, roasted dark malts, coffee with milk, quite dry. Palate: low body and low carbonation. Overall: quite nice black mild.

Chestnut thin ale with a little foam. Light aroma of caramel. Slightly bitter thin and dull caramel flavor. Rob_D_UK (1369) - Madrid, SPAIN - APR 29, 2014
Pours a very very dark brown with a white creamy head. Nice caramel malt smell. Good taste too. sschwab (48) - London, ENGLAND - APR 8, 2014
Lovely dark brown appearance with a creamy coffee head. Nice floral/roasted malt smell and initial taste, but hints of tobacco and roasted coffee quickly disappear. Like a porter-lite in every way. Very sessionable. Don’t have it too cold.
