Post-festival pint at some Spoons in Reading. Filmy orange with a fine white slick. Thistle, boiled sweets, faint frangipane aroma. Wet dough, damp spiced apple, Lockets, horse food, honey, dandelion. No hop whatsoever. Nothing technically wrong, but more boring than a pint of water.

bobinlondon (1295) - Harrow, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 25, 2010
hand pulled cask at the Moon and Sixpence (JDW) Hatch End. Slightly hazy gold with a good natural white head. Well balanced with fresh English hops and a fruity malt profile. Rather decent.

Cask at Pilgrim’s Progress (JDW), Bedford, in Spoons Real Ale Festival ’10. Bright copper colour and a lively white head. Beautiful sweet fruity aroma: peach and pineapple perhaps. Sweet fruity taste with thick, delicious malt. Mid bitter finish. I thought this was excellent, and near the Best of the Festival for me.

Cask conditioned handpump Moon On The Square Northampton. A light amber coloured beer with a slim whitish head. A perfectly quaffable earthy beer which is instantly forgettable. Nowt wrong with it, just ordinary.
