DruncanVeasey (8260) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JAN 4, 2009
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2009 Cask, Swan and Rushes Winter Fest. Headless pitch wafting with coal smoke. Dusty choc, espresso and smoke. Solid, sulphurous, nicely burnt porter. Too much for Nav.

bobinlondon (1297) - Harrow, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 23, 2008
Handpulled cask at the Marriners, Great Yarmouth. Almost black with a creamy tan head. Lovely rich flavour of chocolate and burnt malt. Very well balanced and warming.

Svesse (8731) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - DEC 29, 2007
(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 17 Dec 2007) Pitch black colour with creamy, pale brown head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of cold black coffee and cocoa. Roasted, malty taste with loads of chocolate and cocoa, hints of sweetness and a lovely cocoa bitterness in the finish. Very nice, traditional porter.

omhper (25546) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - DEC 19, 2007
Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm. Very dark ruby. Light on coffee and molasses. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Salty and malty, light flavoured but dense and focused.

ante (3373) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 5, 2007
Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Pours out in a dark brown colour with a creamy beige head. Soft aroma toasted malts, nuts, milky chocolate and grass. Smooth flavour of roasted grains, sweet coffee, currant-leaves and nut-shells. Medium bitter finish of dark chocolate black coffee, nuts and fudge. Nice old style porter. Smooth and moresh.

Mungo (2470) - Southampton, Hampshire, ENGLAND - NOV 28, 2007
Cask conditioned @ Giddy Bridge (JDW), Soton. Vanilla and roasty malts. Slightly sweet but dry roastiness predominates in the finish. Pleasant but by the end seems a little bland.

downender (8774) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - NOV 16, 2007
Cask-conditioned at the Lloyd’s No 1, Bristol as part of their November 2007 festival. Dark brown coloured with a reddish tinge. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruit and sweetish malt. Flavour of plain chocolate, roasted malt with a dry finish. Very enjoyable.

reakt (950) - Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 6, 2007
Cask @ Hamilton Hall ’Sporks. Deep amber with a thin off white head. Roasted malt, hops, toffee, apple and coffee in the nose with a taste much the same. Sweet with some tobacco and light cocoa notes. Hops shine through underneath. Definitely not your average porter and maybe some bad conditioning on this cask as I’m not quite as enthused as the others below.

3.1
Rune (13359) - Tromsø, NORWAY - FEB 17, 2007
Half pint handpulled at The Penderels Oak, Holborn. Some off-white, frothy head that left great lacing on the glass. Deep ruby-dark body. Dark malty aroma. Slightly roasted flavour supported by a dash of sweet caramel. Creamy mouthfeel. Vague bitter end (4.02.2007).

3.8
StueyD (1586) - Heacham, Norfolk, ENGLAND - FEB 16, 2007
A purple-red tinge to a dark brown coloured beer, topped with a thick, off-white head. A light, jammy, ripe fruit aroma with a background of chocolatey malt.A smooth and sweet, fruity taste, grapy, plums and forest fruits, then a slightly grassy flavour towards the end. (Cask - The Ouse Amateur Sailing Club, King’s Lynn, Norfolk)
