COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
On keg for Burns Night, 2013 at The Hanging Bat. Brewed with 7 malts and 5 spices for an authentic haggis experience. We left out the entrails but kept the oatmeal and brewed with British malt and hops.

Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours black, roasted chocolate, liquorice, really interesting blend of spices.

Keg at hanging bat. Black with a tan head. Slightly perfumed spice aroma, at first I thought it was cloves (I’m not a big fan of cloves) but after speaking to the brewer was informed it’s probably ginger that I was picking up (not a big fan of ginger either), quite peppery, it does actually smell quite like haggis. Taste has more of the zingy ginger and spices follwed by a luscious chocolatey roasty finish. The palate is excellent, smooth and elegant with lots of body. This was nice and very interesting, the haggis spices are well measured but I think I would have preferred a straight stout without the spices or at least without the ginger ;)
