Thanks to Mr Garvie himself! Gusher! When under control it’s an opaque dark brown beer with a small pale tan head. Palate is light, airy and pretty dry. Mellow and dry dark malt. Pretty mild smoke. There is a different type of tang here that I would not normally associate with a porter so I assume is the tea. Finishes dry. Interesting but (cough) not my cup of tea!
Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013. Old sweaty feet aroma. some soft roastyness. Chestnut brown colour with a small cream head. Decent. Flavour is nutty roasty toast with some earthy. Ungstrup (38215) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - SEP 2, 2013
Bottled. A black beer with a huge fluffy dark brown head, seems infected. The aroma has notes coffee, brettanomyces, and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, coffee, and hints of brett, leading to a dry roasted finish. The body is light. Scopey (15427) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 19, 2013
Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013. Long-lasting gusher! It pours cloudy deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is roasted malt, coffee, toast, earth, toasted oat and mild acidity. The taste is roasty, earth, toast, dry-roast, coffee, light smoke and burnt cocoa and dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Interesting,,,, planky84 (3365) - Lee, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 14, 2013

Bottle at ChrisO’s pre-GBBF Shindig 2013. Dark brown cloudy beer, with small off white head. Nose is light malty, bit of caramel, slight very light banana ester, slight smokey tea aroma. Taste is quite watery, vague malty, caramel, not much else. chriso (7586) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 9, 2013
330ml bottle, at tasting on 18 November 2012. Thanks to Craig for providing. Dark brown. Generous beige head. Malty toffee and molasses notes on the nose. Vaguely smoky and rather "scented" flavour which I guess comes from the Lapsang Souchong. Which, as teas go, I don’t really like actually. Rather light body for a stout. Finishes with a fair bit of residual sweetness. Interesting but just not really my cup of tea. As long as it floats Craig’s boat that’s the main thing though.
