bottle. Near black with small head. Roasty chocolate malt, quite a bit of coffee. Finishes bitter. Decent porter. These guys really like the coffee beers I guess.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense foamy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big nutty dark roast coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted dark bread; with light notes of smoke, char, dark fruits, herbal, floral, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big nutty dark roast coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted dark bread; with light notes of smoke, char, dark fruits, herbal, floral, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate roast/char and herbal/floral hop bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of dark roast coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toasted dark bread, smoke, char, herbal, floral, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a nice roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from roast/hop bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 7,2%, Overall this is a great American coffee porter! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. Insanely huge on coffee; with great well rounded malt complexity and hop balance. A very enjoyable offering.
