Draft during lunch at Campground Brewdown. Poured a light amber body with a small to average foamy super light beige head. Aroma of subdued citrus, light toast and with some warmth grapefruit. Medium to full body with bubbly carbonation and some noticeable alcohol heat. Flavor of grapefruit, rind and alcohol. Alcohol is a bit to apparent on this one.

Hazy copper color with a thin beige head. Aroma of resin, pine sap, and brown sugar. Heavy on the sweetness for an IPA. Seems a little muddled and unsure of itself.

[7517-20150815] Tap. Fruity grassy aroma. Clear, golden orange body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. More fruity grains in the flavour. Medium body. Average. (6/3/6/3/12) 3.0

2015-08-15. Lightly hazy dark orange body, nice beige head and lace. 3+ Aroma of fruity hops, sweet orange citrus blended with caramel malt. 7+ Flavour is similar, hops blend with caramel malt core. Pleasant but stronger malt presence than my preference. Medium body, modest carbonation. Tasty. On tap at Elk Creek Cafe, Millheim, PA.

On tap at the Knick. Mild spicy rye aroma with light biscuit. Coppery amber clear with thin head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Starts malty sweet with caramel, light rye spicy character. Big bitter rye finish with bitter after. A little harsh.

Transfer from BA rated on 1-21-12 - Had on tap at the alehouse. Appearance – A nice amber color which forms a nice head. The head fades away to give a nice persistant foam and some decent degree’s of lacing. Smell – A big hop aroma of citrus and pine meets the nose. A bit of the maltyness works it’s way thourgh, but is weak in comparison to the big citrus and pine. Taste – The hops hit you right away. They strike big yet give way to some more malty flavors with a few sweet, caramel and toffee, flavors working their way in. They again seem to be lost in some piney hop taste which comes back toward the end of the taste. For a ~9 % not much alcohol flavor. Mouthfeel – A nice body, although a bit thinner then would be expected for the the abv. It has a moderate level of carbonation and has a smooth flow in the mouth. Overall - A very nice double IPA. It is very good and a very drinkable beer (which at ~9 abv may not be the best), but kidding aside quite delicious.

Tasted like maple syrup and brown sugar...definitely not an IPA I would ever try again. Ugh

In short: A well balanced easy to drink golden Double IPA.
How: Tap at brewpub.
The look: Clear copper body topped by a small beige head with good retention and leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: Nose is mostly fruity hops with some toasted cereals. Taste is crunchy toasted bread, croutons sensation, crunchy caramel, refreshing fruity hops with a smooth and tasty bitterness. The advertised 10% abv is very well hidden. Quite easy to drink, actually this one was easier to drink than their smaller Double Rainbow IPA which was a sticky dry-hop bomb. A nice beer from this little brewpub located in a small Pennsylvania village where people still using computers running Windows 7 and Windows 8 while us Canadians are already on Windows 95.
