Cask at HWBF. Back with light cream tan head. Chocolate coffee and burnt toast. Nice thickness. Probably the best beer at The Heriot WattBeer fest of 2012.

Cask at HW. Black with egg shell head. Aroma has mostly chocolate, hint of coffee and slight licorice. Taste has chocolate, coffee, licorice and molasses. Slightly smokey. Clean finish. Bit flat for me but pretty good

Tasted this at the Paisley Beer Festival in May 2009. Cask, gravity dispense. Black with ruby highlights and no head. Strong roast malt aroma with hints of old leather. Superb creamy mouthfeel and no lacing. Dark malt complex gives rich roasted malt, mocha coffee, sweet treacle toffee and maple syrup. These sweet notes are replaced by drier offerings of roasted coffee beans, liquorice, dark bitter chocolate and hazelnut. There may be hop resins in this potent brew but difficult to detect against the dark background. Finish is powerful and alcoholic with chocolate liqueur and molasses evident. A superb old fashioned porter to be sipped and savoured. Highly recommended.

On cask at The Bow Bar. A black ale with a ruby glow and a thin, light tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, caramel and Kopiko coffee sweets. Alcohol is quite present overall. Some smoky and roasty malt flavours with caramel and burnt toast qualities. Moderate carbonation. Lovely.

Cask @ Paramount, Manchester (as Paramount Porter)
Appearance - Black, very thin tan white head.
Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate.
Fairly complex taste of roasted malts, sweet dark caramel malts, espresso, some fruityness, bit earthy, bit unrefined though.
Medium body. Finish of roast coffee lingers a bit too long.
Nice porter but a bit rough round the edges.

UPDATED: OCT 6, 2011 This is an outstanding beer. This is a beer that non-porter drinkers should drink, I dont drink porter myself! On cask @ the paramount, JDW in Manchester. Dark brown with a decent, off white head. Cocoa on the nose. Very rich, decent carbonation making it very drinkable. Cocoa and roast flavour. Easy to drink finish of smoke and mocha. Its a delight to drink and probably one of my favourite ever beers, Ive tried little like it. More of a stout than a porter if I must add though.

Cask at GBBF 2011, Day 2. This beer really did it for me. Pours dark brown with a bubbly, tan head. Rich cocoa nose, some roasted malt. Delicious flavor, rich and well-rounded dark cocoa, brown sugar, great roastiness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Light warming finish, light smoke, dark roast, dry mocha. Really great.
