Cask conditioned - handpump - Malt Shovel, Northampton. A black coloured beer with a beige head. Nice roasty nose with fishy characters. The taste is lovely. Roasted malts, coffee and really rich. Very long in the mouth, and really complex and tasty. Another great porter from this brewery. cgarvieuk (24488) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 27, 2009

Gravity Cask, Chelmsford Beer Festival Huge chocolate...oak bark...Fuggles...Goldings...earthy...low down dirty finish which goes on for ever, shifting and changing character. Chocolate and roasty aroma. Body is soft and creamy. A darling beer which tastes of the freedom and lonliness of the long distance runner. duff (5484) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUL 16, 2003

Dug it. A bit ugly, but thaats alwayss nice once in a while. Smoky, ashy roastyness, quite dry, with a long (quite long actually), bitter, burnt, tarry finish, i liked the uglyness of it. The bitter roastyness limgered around on the tongue for a while. (Cask- ChelmsfordBF 03')

Brewery Tap, Wimbledon). Some grapeskins noticed this time, full palate, very tasty.
[Cask conditoned] Dark brown coloured. A nice porter with plenty of bitterness and dry herbal notes in the finish.

Cask (gravity) - The Duke of Wellington, Norwich. Poured a deep brown with a medium sized, tight & bubbly lasting & lacing light tan head. Smoky, meaty, roasty aromas with some developing berry notes. Roasty & smoky with some coffee on the tongue. Medium body, soft mouthfeel with light carbonation & a lingering dry bitter malt finish. harrisoni (18578) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JUL 10, 2008
