3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is a classic case of a beer having more bark than its bite. The nose is great - smoky, oatmeal, dark fruits. The palate is thin - really difficult to distinguish a flavor besides smoked malts. Appearance is nice and dark, not pitch black. Wish I got more out of this beer taste and palate-wise, but the nose and appearance save it.
Dark brown almost black with a tan head. Aroma is malty, chocolate, licorice and sweet. Taste of roasted malt, licorice, vanilla and som coca/chocolate. patricks110 (2794) - Alberta, CANADA - JAN 11, 2018
Damn good; only complaint being the body is thinner than usual for the style. Pours a dark black with brown edges, thin tan head dissipates quite quickly. The nose is rich, roasted coffee, bakers chocolate, belgian esters, quite herbacious. Notable Belgian flavour with a bit of star anise, prunes, dark, bitter chocolate, spicy and floral hop notes. No carbonation, medium body, aftertaste is bitter and astringent. There is bit of sweetness but it finished dry and bitter. Overall a fine brew! piwnysnoob (19) - Torun, POLAND - DEC 28, 2017
Bottle. Black color, foam goes off quite fast leaving just thin layer. Coffee, chockolade aroma but unfortunetly alcohol aroma is the strongest. As many Belgium beers it has high alcohol volume. Surprisingly alcohol is not so strong in taste, coffee taste and bitter chockolade. Dry and malty indeed. Fortunetly not so much CO2 as in many Belgium beers. Overal quite good if you like strong stouts. yoxik75 (461) - Wroclaw, POLAND - DEC 9, 2017
Uzupełnienie profilu notatki.
Piana drobna zbita, zdobi szkło. Kolor ciemny zmętniony z czerwonymi prześwitami. Aromat ciemne słody, czekolada, lekko owoce, karmel, mało intensywny. Smak szorstka chropowatość ciemnych słodów, karmel, dębina, belgijska owocowośc, przyprawowe ostre nuty drożdżowe, kwaskowe palone nuty. Słodycz umiarkowana, alkohol ukryty, ledwie wyczuwalny. Bardzo Dobry RIS o wyraźnym belgijskim rodowodzie. tomasz_matelski (7) - Torun, POLAND - NOV 21, 2017 does not count

Bottle. Dark Brown with a light tan head. Smells of roasted malts, caramel and toffee with coffee & chocolate. Sweet & smooth on the palate with the Alcohol well hidden and a dry finish. Very drinkable. julesxxl (134) - Cholet, FRANCE - NOV 3, 2017

Une bonne stout de Belgique, cadeau de mes parents, elle est très brune. Au gout, elle passe bien. Ses 9% ne se font pas sentir, la levure belge est plutot discréte. Bonne donc! panda_brewmaster (151) - Bournemouth, Dorset, ENGLAND - OCT 21, 2017
UPDATED: JAN 7, 2018 Aromas of yeast, roasted malt, dark chocolate, oak and subtle vanilla. Taste of malt, dark chocolate, a bit of caramel, subtle coffee and a hint of vanilla. Very well balanced aftertaste of sweet and bitter with a reminder of dark chocolate and the high abv. Scipio (1275) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - OCT 2, 2017
Pours black with a medium, light beige head. The aroma has quite a bit of alcohol in it. It has significant yeast, chocolate, roasted malt, and minor vanilla. The yeast makes the nose unusual. The taste is dry and sweet. I find plenty of vanilla, raisin, alcohol and yeast. Chocolate and coffee are complimentary, while there is subtle cherry and plum as well. The finish is alcohol and cherry with just a bit of coffee. Medium bodied, slick in texture, and flat carbonation. This is different from anything I can remember having. Its worth trying just for its uniqueness.
