Many yeast residues sink to the bottom after pouring. Persistent white foam. The aroma has suffered from roasted malt and a distinct aroma of freshly baked rye bread, besides some fruit. Very spicy flavor with creamy mouthfeel. There is revealed sweet fruit tones aforementioned bread, wheat malts typical citrus touch, light roasted malt, caramel, spices (including nutmeg) and a little sharp but moderate hop bitterness at the end. Great fullness carries it all the way through the palate. Very little carbonation, but the persistent creamy foam is also a good enjoyment. Dry aftertaste. Great beer. Like Saisis, this is another of the original Ellezelloise beers which did not survive the fusion with Géants. Wheat saison with yellowish white, thick, stable, moussy head and deep peach blond colour, cloudy. Very fruity aroma of orange, strawberry, white grapes, wheat, caramel, liquorice, grassy hops, honey, pepper, white chocolate, aniseed, coriander. Fruity onset with citrussy freshness, full and rounded palate, malt sweet, more spicy in the middle (impressions of ginger and cinnamon), with mild herbal hoppy finish. A bit too polished and not ’wild’ enough for a real saison, but still a more than decent ale. portableparty (2384) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - SEP 24, 2013
11.2 oz bottle from January 2008. Pours flat and dark amber with no head, but some random bubbles around the collar. Aroma is sweet caramel some pepper spice and nothing else. Taste is more of the above with no signs of carbonation or flavor, but the sweet caramel water. Palate is thin flat and blah... hotstuff (5258) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - SEP 10, 2013
Rated on 4-02-2009 (Bottle) This beer poured as a gusher with a large white very fizzy head, hazy straw body, visible carbonation, and no lacing. The Aroma is malty, sweet, hoppy, spicy, and fruity. Ditto for the taste along with some yeast. The Palate is smooth and watery. This beer is light bodied. Overall, this beer is easy to drink. Almost too easy to drink. It is worth trying. ration (2263) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAR 16, 2013

Pours hazy golden color with a large head. Aroma of yeast, citrus fruits, mild hops, spice notes and mild pale malts. Flavor of citrus fruits, some apricot, spices, pale malts and yeast. Well balanced. Very nice.
Pours murky brown with very little fizz. Smells a bit funky with some caramel and bready notes. Taste is bready, malty sweet, and a bit fruity. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Ellezelloise Saison finishes with a mild sweetness similar to honey. This is not like any saison I’ve ever had; it was more like a dubbel than anything else. Grima (2506) - Merzkirchen, RLP, GERMANY - FEB 3, 2012
The beer in the glass is strong golden yellow with a soapy-pearly head. It smells dominant malty, slightly sweet and fruity. Starts hoppy, floral, very fruity, balanced sweet-sour. The middle part is fruity-sweet, surprisingly hoppy and slightly yeasty in the background. Goes into a fruity-sweet-sour finish with grassy aroma hops. Might as well pass as a german Kristallweizen! Bottle @ home. Clear orange / light copper color, big white head. Smell malts, sweet and something weird. Taste lightly bitter, malts and bread. Decent carbo, low body.
