COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Seventeen is an Ale brewed in honor of our 17th year of brewing. We aged 17 on toasted American Oak for 3 months. It’s lite brown in color, with sweet malty flavors that fade into hints of pear and green bananas that give way to vanillia and a dry oaky finish.

A: Orangish/Amber Hue, Passes Lots of Light, White Head Ring, Mild Lacing S: Pears, Mild Banana, Mild Vanilla T: Pears, Banana, Mild Vanilla M: Mediocre Carbonation, Light to Medium Bodied, Mildly Sweet, Mildly Drying Overall, its an average sweet strong ale, dont get much of the oak but you do get the vanilla, maybe mix in some malts to cut the sweetness and add more character to the beer. Drinkable but not something you seek out.

Had on draft @ the Ellicottville brewpub in Ellicottville, NY .. . light wood, oak, and vanilla .. . good definition .. playful and damned unique, very tasty, especially for a brewpub! .. . . i can’t abide mucky paint!

Draft at the Brew pub in Ellicottville on Brew tours 2012. After the sampler trays. We split 3 pints. This one was Dan H’s pick. It was a nice powerful malty full bodied ale. The sweet malty flavor help hide the ABV. But it did affect me as I was easily talked into buying an expensive T-shirt on the way out. Good stuff.
