Bottle. Pours a nice clear gold with a thin white head and some lace. Aroma is of wild small blueberries but it is subdued- unlike a blue point or a sea dog blueberry- also hints of wierd perfume and potpourri. Flavor is herbal with just a small hint of blueberry, flowery, grassy, candle wick, dust and cardboardy, yet I can somehow tell its not cuz it is old- kinda seems fresh but it just kinda sucks. Grassy herbal finish bordering on astringent. Blech. hopson (635) - Williamsville, New York, USA - JUN 20, 2007
bottle: terrible. not even because this is a beer style I don’t like. This just is not a good blueberry beer. It has a strange taste, hard to pinpoint, but very grassy and sour/tart. Not like a blueberry...Sorry EBC. I want to be supportive, but this is not good. GregClow (3402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 19, 2007
Bottle courtesy of HogTownHarry. Light golden colour with a very faint haze and a small white head. Aroma of fresh blueberry pie. Medium body. Decent flavour of blueberries balanced with some mild biscuity malt and faint floral hops in the finish. I liked it, but I like blueberries a lot. jercraigs (10651) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 18, 2007
Bottle courtesy of HogTownHarry. Golden body, tiny white head. Prominent blueberries in aroma have notes of musty blueberry cheesecake and light floral notes, perhaps from the hops. In the flavour the blueberry is on the lighter side, with just enough light bitterness to keep it from being cloying. Average, smooth palate. Bit dull, but not unpleasant. 6/3/6/3/10-11 shigadeyo (3761) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 12, 2007
6/12/2007: The cap on this bottle of EBC Blueberry Wheat looks extactly like those used by Southern Tier Brewing Company. That leads me to believe that this beer was actually made by Southern Tier for Ellicottvile Brewing Company. That, paired with the appearance and taste of this beer, pretty much confirms it for me. The EBC Bluebeery Wheat is obviously made with the same base beer as that which is used for the <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Beer/southern-tier-ra Tier Raspberry Wheat Beer but has blueberry extract flavoring in it rather than raspberry. Both beers are a transparent, pale straw color and have a thin, frothy, white/off-white crown. The EBC Blueberry Wheat Beer actually smells and tastes less artificial than the Southern Tier Raspberry Wheat Beer. The blueberry is more floral and "real" rather than being powdery, sugary, and fake like the raspberry. Also, the floral qualities of the blueberry aroma and flavor seem to complement the grassy, floral, and noble hop bite of the Pilsener-/Dortmunder-like base beer that appears in the finish better. This beer is also not quite as sweet and has a little bit of tartness that works with the mild bitterness to really balance this beer well. This beer has a medium-light body body and is easy to drink. While not quite as good as other available fruit beers, EBC Blueberry Wheat Beer is definitely much better than the Southern Tier Raspberry Wheat Beer, although there is still some room for improvement. Crisp, clean, and refreshing nonetheless!

12 oz bottle (4123106071316) from Jungle’ Jim’s.
Bottle sample at Jungle Jim’s. Pours clear golden color with an average frothy white head that was mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate blueberry aroma. Light to medium body with soft carbonation. Medium fruity sweet flavor with a medium bitter sweet finish of an average duration. My expectations where met. OhioDad (2492) - Hilliard, Ohio, USA - MAY 31, 2007
12oz bottle pours golden with a short white head and lots of carbonation rising to the top. Aromas of blueberry over some crisp grain. Flavor is exactly that. Blueberry blended with crisp grain. I don’t think the flavor seems as artificial as others here make it out to be. It blends pretty well with the grains and slight grassy hops in this one. Almost like a pilsner blended with blueberries. Kind of interesting. Gorbalev (3000) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 20, 2007
Bottle, courtesy of Hogtown Harry. Light yellow, small white head. Fake blueberry aroma - weird, it is almost like a blueberry extract or something. I don’t mid it, but only when it was ice cold. Same thing goes for taste - ice gold, I liked the light ale / blueberry thing (I like blueberries to begin with), but as it warms, yuck, artificial blueberry fruit beer madness. But as a summer quencher you could do worse. Just remember the ice and you’ll be fine. blankboy (7735) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 22, 2007
Bottle courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a very pale yellow-gold with a small diminishing white head. Aroma is big time blueberries, like a blueberry muffin to be exact, weird, not sure if I like it or not. The blueberries in the flavour aren’t quite as in-your-face which is a good thing, there’s still lots there but you can actually taste some Wheat beer in there as opposed to the aroma where all I got was blueberries. Light bodied. It’s alright for what it is but you damn well better like blueberries if you’re going to drink this sucker, cause subtle it ain’t. MrBeer (276) - Erie, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 22, 2007
the blueberry taste and smell definitely stand out. not a bad beer by any means, just a little different taste than most beers.
