COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A strong ale aged in American oak. Starts slightly sweet and malty, fading into an awesome array of flavors - brewed with Caramel, Green Apple, citrus and vanilla. The unique character of each barrel blends with the beer’s complex flavors, creating a dry finish with a bold oak essence. From sip to swallow, an interesting and layered flavor experience.

Bottled on 07/27/17. Nose Granny Smith with vanilla. Pour clear golden with a hint of orange, fizzy off-white head. Taste relatively big on the caramel, a little syrupy with a dash of warmth from the alcohol, sticky medium-full body. The tart apple is more of a rounding note and the vanilla-oak mix finishes in third, but there's real synergy here and good balance. Medium-sweet that probably accumulates too quickly for me, very low bitterness but it's there in the earthy range. Just a little bit of roast/smoke but it's faint. Tell you what, they really, really achieved the name, phenomenally appropriate marketing (and kudos for that rare accomplishment). [2017.09.19: 3.2]

This draft brew from the brewery was served at a cool temperature and poured a very small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were very quickly diminishing and left behind a very softly carbonated body transparent light orange colored body with no lacing. . The sharp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish sweet aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of sweet candy and malt. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

Bottle @ Home. Thanks for this treat, Shawn. Clear orange colored beer with a short lived white head and mild carbonation. Smells pretty musty and kind of funky. Odd cider note and a lot of caramel, certainly. Super sugary flavor. A lot of sweetness but a bit of sour green apple candy. It does have a bit of that caramel apple lollipop thing to it, but it’s also really musty and...earthy and damp.

Sampled on draft at Denny’s Beer Barrel in Clearfield PA this beer poured a dark golden color with a small foamy white head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was strong caramel apple and dough. The flavor was caramel, apple pie and bread and cookie dough. Long finish. Moderately full bodied. Interesting.

I really liked this. Taste was very much of tart green apples, think jolly rancher. We were in sour country. Not too sour, good palate, a bit of hoppiness took away the sweet and sour at the end. Nicely done.

Draft at MacGregor’s with Chuck. Pours a translucent green with a thin white head. Sweet and fruity aroma, with citrus, vanilla, and a hint of oak. The flavor has sweet malts, citrus, some light spiciness, vanilla and oak. The Alcohol was hidden well.
