Last beer of the night for Brew Tour 2012 WNY. We stopped in Fredonia so old Dan could see his daughter. She directed us to the local Ellicottville Brew Pub. Young Dan bought me this last beer of the night. Pours orange with an off white head. Aroma is sweet floral and citric hops, with a hint of caramel. Smooth, medium body. Flavor brings floral, and citric notes, as well as caramel and lightly roasted malty notes. Alcohol is not very well hidden. Young Dan finished this one. I was done for the night and slept most of the way back to Roch. Thanks to the 2 Dans and Joe for coming. And special thanks for Joe driving us drunks around and being our designated driver of my car.

Aroma off smell feet? resiny hops, caramel, boozy. Pour overly cloudy copperish color off white head. Taste very boozy, caramel, grapefruit, abrasively sweet, pine and floral hops. MF medium chewy body mild carb. Overall not a good beer wouldnt re drink.

Bottle Pours a clear copper with a good creamy off white head. The head lasts well, but doesnt leave much lacing at all. Has a candy sweetness to the aroma. Get hints fruits, spice and hops. The flavor is sweet with some dry hoppiness at the end. Has a dry texture. A medium body. Has a good carbonation. The finish is okay and the aftertaste a bit funky. Not bad but seems out of style.

Bottle from Craft. Pours copper with minimal head and nose of heavy resiny hops, caramel malt, tropical fruit, and black pepper. Nose is like Dreadnaught Jr. Tastes of tangerine, resiny hops, and caramel malt. gets a bit hot late, and a bit malt-light, but this one is very good.

22 oz. bottle. Candied malt and hop aroma. Golden amber body very thin head. Very sweet flavor with malts and hops. much more sweet then bitter. Aftertaste is that of a jolly rancher- which flavor I can not distinguish

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2009 22oz. Bottle (11.5%ABV): Aroma of toasted malts and a hint of hops. Poured orange/amber in color with a small, creamy, beige head that diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Slightly sparkling. Very good lacing. Flavor is lightly bitter and lightly sweet. Tastes of toasted malt, hops, and the slightest hint of tropical fruit. Medium body. Oily, then dry texture. Average carbonation. Hops, toasted malt, and slight tropical fruit finish is lightly dry. 11.5%ABV is very well hidden. Definitely an APA not a IIPA.

Bottle. I thoroughly enjoyed this, despite the 20.9 percentile ranking that it has at the time of this ranking. Amber pour, yellowish tint at the edges. It has a boozy scent to it, the scent is probably the worst part about the beer, if I had to pick an attribute. Despite the boozy smell though, the taste is crisp and smooth, and theres no hint of the 11.5% ABV (I realize the ABV at the top of the page says 9%, but this is 11.5%). Not amazingly hoppy bitter, but a nice mix of hops and citrusy flavor. A very drinkable IPA, something that I would definitely recommend to my non-IPA drinking friends. Whether thats a good or bad thing - thats for you to decide.
