Pours orange amber hut with minimal head. Creamy body gives way to tangerine, oranges, light caramel and faint bittering grapefruit. More sweet than bitter.

Draft at Shepherd and Knucklehead, Hoboken. Darker reddish color with a thin beige head. Sticky caramel and booze with some go notes. Heavy, cloying malty flavor. Kinda reminds me of all the bad barleywines that use to be everywhere in the early 2010s. Not sure how you can possible call this an Imperial IPA in 2017.

Pours a hazy rust orange-amber with light head. A string malt and dark fruit aroma. A strong malt forward taste with caramel and dark fruits and light hops. A lingering caramel malt and light hop aftertaste.

Bottle. Nose gorgeous PNW fruit salad, typical citrus blend but with really nice cookie dough and a little spice, also stronger malt than usual. Just a touch of nut. Very inviting! Pour a deep but still clear burnished orange with red highlights and a creamy beige head. Taste strongly sweet (too sweet) and strongly bitter, a big mash up of resin and sugar, berry and light citrus squeaking through, meaty malt and spice, lighter vegetal, medium and increasing alcohol numbing and warmth. Aftertaste picks up a little mint and structure without astringency. Its bold but boozy and a little flabby; still, I welcome more traditional, maltier IIPAs that are actually pulled off, and this one is, more or less. [3.3].

Second go: naaah, way too sweet. [2016.06.17: 3.0]

Sampled at Mile, this disgusting brew pours hazy brown with small ring of white head. Notes are so fucking gross: shampoo, commerce bank lollipop, caramel pie, shit malt, shit grain and shit hops. So much booze heat, pushed back the 1 ounce sample after a sip or two. Horrifying

12 ounce bottle. Amber orange pour. Large creamy beige head. Sweet fruity malt nose has notes of sweet orange and caramel. Flavor follows the nose with additional notes of tropical fruit hops and dried apricots. Noticeable alcohol notes in middle. Chewy, sticky hops in finish. Interesting.

ACBF 2016. Poured a clear amber color with a small foamy tan head. Aroma and taste of caramel malt, citrus, grass, and booze.

12 oz bottle from a trade though I didnt write down who. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized, creamy beige head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, caramel, some candied fruit, a mishmash of faded hops, citrus, some herbal notes, mild bitterness, seems old.

FROTHINGSLOSH (7487) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 11, 2015
Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a red-amber color with a large creamy orange-beige head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was bitter, perfumey hops and a bit of sweet fruitiness. The flavor was bitter and boozy with fruity hops, some perfume, an herbal presence, underlying sweetness and then more perfume. Very long perfume and herbal hop finish. Moderately full bodied. Booziness grows. Meh.

Strange beer- Tons of malt and hops but not bitter at all. The sweetness covers up the alcohol well. I enjoyed it. Good in it own right but different from other Imperial IPAs. Pseudo aged 120 min if I had to compare.

12 oz. bottle, sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours a clear bright orange amber with a small white head. Aroma is pretty sweet, with caramel malts, big resinous hops, and a syrupy quality. Flavour is certainly on the sweet malty side for a IIPA, bordering on cloying sweetness, with lots of resinous hops underneath. Not at all my kind of IIPA - just way too sweet for me. Its not bad though.
