12 oz. bottle, sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours a clear bright orange amber with a small white head. Aroma is pretty sweet, with caramel malts, big resinous hops, and a syrupy quality. Flavour is certainly on the sweet malty side for a IIPA, bordering on cloying sweetness, with lots of resinous hops underneath. Not at all my kind of IIPA - just way too sweet for me. It’s not bad though. Lubiere (13941) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 8, 2008
A dark clear amber ale with a very thin off white head. Nice floral hops aroma, caramel malt, and light vinous notes. In mouth, a viscous IPA with meaty notes, caramel, floral hops, land light vinous finale, like a barley wine. Nice. 22oz bottle. Poured a medium amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of toasted grains, floral, citrus, and some earthiness. Tastes of citrus, caramel, the same toastiness, and earthy. jcwattsrugger (12427) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - SEP 25, 2008
12oz bottle-pours a rich light tan head that laces and copper color. Aroma is sweet and bitter citrus-lemon zest, some medium malt. Taste is sweet and bitter citrus-lemon zest, secondary medium malt-caramel/slight burnt, some alcohol. Slick/somewhat syrupy mouth feel. Occasional. Thanks decaturstevo for sharing this. This 650 ml is listed at 11.5% abv and picked up in the fall in Buffalo. FInally, post-shushi, I game. OK, the sourness, and I am far from alone here. Some decent Cascade hop, a bit funky aroma, sweats and smells. Cloudy grapefruit with certain significant white head, and lace. Actually drinkable,.Not a DPA at all.

Bottle from Craft. Pours copper with minimal head and nose of heavy resiny hops, caramel malt, tropical fruit, and black pepper. Nose is like Dreadnaught Jr. Tastes of tangerine, resiny hops, and caramel malt. gets a bit hot late, and a bit malt-light, but this one is very good. jercraigs (10510) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 15, 2007
Growler at Coles IPA Festival. Labeled "Pantius Dropius Imperial IPA." I am going to assume that this is one and the same! Golden dark amber body with a smallish head. Big boozy aroma as it has warmed up a bit, hot caramel, less hops than I would have expected. Flavour starts with boozy toffee and caramel, with light fruity hops. A very bitter finish lingers long into the aftertaste. Surprisingly big finish on a relatively mild flavour profile. Average to medium palate is a bit under carbonated, but the growler had been open for a while. Nice beer. alexsdad06 (10471) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - DEC 27, 2015
12 oz bottle from a trade though I didn’t write down who. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized, creamy beige head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, caramel, some candied fruit, a mishmash of faded hops, citrus, some herbal notes, mild bitterness, seems old. Remainder of a growler, shared by caterwaul. Clear red / orange color. Minimal white head, little lace. Nice tropical fruit, light citrus hop nose. Wow, weird flavor. Seaweed, is what stands out to me. WTF. Very odd, dank grassy seaweed paper flavor to me. Sweeter taste, light bitter. OK sweet DIPA. Probably better straight from the tap. blipp (9373) - La Mesa, California, USA - JUN 24, 2008
22 Oz bottle. Pours orange with an off white head. Aroma is sweet floral and citric hops, with a hint of caramel. Smooth, medium body. Flavor brings floral, grassy and citric notes, as well as caramel and lightly roasted malty notes. Alcohol is very well hidden. Very tasty and easy drinking.
