Draft at the junction. Pours a clear but very dark mahogany with dark amber highlights. Loose tan head. Big peach and vanilla bourbon/oak nose. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Boozy but not hot or bitey--big and warming. Roast, bourbon, vanilla, and oak on the mid palate. Long bourbony finish. riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - MAR 15, 2011
Nose is a great mix of bourbon barrel - vanilla, carmelized sugar notes, alcohol, dark roasted malts, chocolate. Nice. Pours dark brown/black with a thin sheet that settles to foamy islands. The flavor is full or rich sweet bourbon(mostly vanilla and brown sugar, light wood) up front followed by roast and chocolate on the mid palate and medium alcohol heat on the finish. A sipper definitely, but nice balance of barrel and roast, sweet and boozy, but not over the top. Nice stuff.
