Sampler, aged in Heaven Hills barrels, at the West Seattle location. I was going in with a negative mentality thinking its gonna be a horrid mess. But this was surprisingly well done, close the BCS. Sweet grainy, but not too sweet aroma. No vanilla and alcohol strong but not offensive. Flavor is similar with malt sweetness but not bad sugars. Alcohol barrel present but not assertive or destructive. Surpsinvly lighter end of medium body with a fellt yet light carbonation. Finish with a burst of grainy cocoa then some bourbon. Even a light faint fruity barrel alcohol mix. Very drinkable given the style. Ratman197 (14852) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAY 26, 2014
Poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of bourbon, oak, roasted malt, vanilla and bakers cocoa. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of dark chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt and bourbon with a smooth lingering roasty chocolate finish. Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - DEC 7, 2012
On tap at the Elliott Bay Public House & Brewery. Pours a black body with a finger-width, dense and creamy, dark brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is toasty coconut, wood and bourbon, rich dark chocolates, a good amount of roasts, some vanilla, and touches of dark fruits. Flavor is similar. Toasty coconut and rich dark chocolates with a good amount of bourbon and wood. Vanilla gives this a light creaminess in the middle before a good amount of roasts and a hint of plummy dark fruits come in. Finishes dry and woody with lots of bourbon and roasts, but a nice deep chocolate backing. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium-full body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty damn good Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout. Lots of bourbon and wood, but plenty of roasts and chocolate to balance. Very enjoyable. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - OCT 22, 2012
GABF. Dark brown pour, chocolate brown head. Aroma of bourbon, oak, cocoa powder, charred wood, ash, roast, plums. Flavor of vanilla, bourbon, wood, asphalt, chocolate. Creaminess from the oats. Good stuff. dnstone (3418) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JAN 22, 2012
Toasted coconut aroma. Deep brown in color with tan head. Moderate bodied with heavy toasted coconut...finish is very bourbony-boozey...maybe a bit too much bourbon, but I still think its great.

On tap at Brouwer’s for Big Wood, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of light bourbon, roasted malts and chalk. Flavour is quite liqueur-like and boozy, with bourbon, vanilla and roasted malt. Complex and boozy. Very nice.
