Black with a tan, creamy head. Lots of roast and bitter coffee in the nose. Flavor is much the same following with a strong roast background and notes of coffee. There is some smoke wafting through the flavor as well. Yes, I just used wafting in a rating. Some mocha, and just a tiny bit of yeast there. Finishes fairly light bodied with a lot of flavors.
Pours dark brown with a tan head. The aging in Pinot Noir barrels immediately becomes apparent. An almost brett like aroma, grapes, and stone fruits spread on toast. Dark malts can be separated out in flavor to compliment the somewhat sour body. Finish is tart as well. Definitely different. BuckeyeBoy (7681) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JAN 5, 2009
On tap at the Burien brewpub location. Pours out a Brown with red highs topped with a tan cream head. Aroma of Dark roast chocolate and light hops. Tast was of light dark chocolate and rich malts. There was a nice light bitterness on the end aswell. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - NOV 7, 2007

UPDATED: JUN 15, 2007 Draft at the Burien pub. Pours opaque black with a slim but clinging off-white head and lace. Roasty nose but not too much else happening there. Tingy soft tiny-bubble carb. Body’s medium full. Chocolate and roast on the mid-palate; fairly subdued finish.
