This review is for the 2012 Elliot Bay Pro-Am Imperial Stout. I had it on tap at the Lake City location. Pours almost black as tar with a medium tan head. Rich aroma and thick smooth palate feel. Tastes of burnt malt, molasses, dark chocolate, coffee, with a distinctly anise overtones. This is a rich, complex imperial that can hold its own with the best. Ranks up there with the very best.
At EBB Lake City. Best beer of the night. Slightly brown tinged stout, some light coming through on edge. Brown head. Hazelnut and kahlua, rich tasty brown sugar body, quite tasty. Good alc aroma. Rich chocolate grain. Fantastic mcberko (19858) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 15, 2012
On tap at Elliott Bay Brewpub, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of oatmeal, chocolate malts and light roasty notes – more chocolaty than anything. Flavour is moderately roasty, heavily dark chocolate-dominated, with some oats and mild espresso notes. Medium-bitter finish from the roasted malts. Full-bodied and warming at 11%. Excellent.
