From tap at City Tap House. Pours pitch black with a small chocolate brown head. Aroma is fruity; raspberries, roasted malty too. Smooth raspberry fruity to a dark roasted malty base. Smooth and lingering dark malty with a light citric raspberry note. Travlr (24262) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JAN 30, 2013
Bottle. Completely black, large beige head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma is very roasty coffee grounds, cocoa, berries. The fruit is subtle but present, with a nice coarse roastiness and powdery cocoa coffee. Normally fruit stouts are not my thing, but somehow this one works. fiulijn (20372) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 7, 2015

Black color, raspberry aroma, nice chocolate flavor, and moderate sweetness. Actually pretty good.

Black color, compact head. Mild aroma of roasted malts and cardboard. Roasted malt flavor, rather dry, also more body was expected given the high ABV, and once more the raspberries add nothing g good to black beers, as their tartness doesn’t blend with the roasted malts.
Could be an OK beer for somebody, but the result is cacophonous.
Tap at Elysian Fields, Seattle - 09/11/12.
Mid black with a thin tan head.
Nose is chocolate, roast malts, a little Belgian yeastiness.
Tastes of chocolate, raspeberry is well evident, dark malts, hint of Belgian yeast esters.
Medium bodied with soft carbonation leading to a sweet roasty finish.
Decent enough, does what it says on the tin, the 7%+ alcohol was very well hidden. mcberko (17155) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 9, 2012
On tap at Tangle Town, pours black with a small tan head and a reddish tinge. Aroma of roasted malt, light raspberries and some sweetness. Flavour is much more pronounced on the raspberries, blended well with the roasted malt. Syrupy palate, without being too sweet. Solid stuff.

Bottle. Pours very dark brown - almost black- with tan head. Nose and taste of chocolate covered raspberries, dusty cocoa, roast chocolate malt, coffee roast and vanilla. Finishes with slightly soured raspberries but still plenty of roast. Body is a little on the lighter side of medium. bhensonb (15079) - Woodland, California, USA - JAN 30, 2013
Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours dark brown/black with a creamy darkish tan head. Aroma of chocolate followed by red berry. Med body or better. Sort of creamy. Flavor is chocolate, smooth burnt malt and raspberry. After that there is a yeast/spice thing, but any fruity esters must be drowned out by the strong flavors. It’s very different and pretty tasty. Raspberry isn’t overdone. Finishes nearly dry with a little chalky/ashy thing. Rather tasty and mouthsmacking. Ferris (14998) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 13, 2016

Sample at the Super Bowl Viewing and Beer tasting on 02/01/2015. The beer is a dark brownish-black color with a touch of ruby around the edges. Medium khaki head that diminishes steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and mild raspberry. Medium-bodied with flavors of roasted malt, sweet chocolate and raspberries. The finish is malty up front with a subtle berry aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
