Bouteille au Mondial. Couleur paille voilée, peu de mousse blanche disparaissant rapidement. Arôme de pomme, cidre de glace?, acidité. Goût funky, légère acidité, pomme, alcool. Carbonation moyenne-élevée, corps moyen. sulawang (1155) - - MAY 30, 2013
pours almost clear golden tangerine orange with a smallish head, not much lacing, ringed retention, a few slow streams. Sour persimmon, apricot, and a hint of citrus on the nose.
Attack: fizzy/crisp, 4/10-sweetness
Mid-palate: yeasty-wheatiness, persimmon, light apricot, sharp sourness
Finish: dry persimmon flesh bitterness, lingering dryness.
A beer with a unique flavour profile. I don’t love it, so it’s not worth recommending or drinking again.

Draft at the growler NYC. Cloudy wheat orange color. Smells of sugar and honey. Taste is more boozy like some type of Belgian ale. I was kind if looking forward for a legit sour.

On tap at 2SP in Newark. Pours a light golden color with a half finger white soapy head with good retention. Aroma of sweet malt with light sour fruit and a hint of wild yeast. Flavor of sweet persimmon juice, sweet malt, slightly vinous with a hint of brett. Mild sourness lingers on back of tongue. Light to medium bodied with medium spritzy carbonation. hayduke (5188) - Eureka, California, USA - APR 12, 2013
The beer was shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. It poured a bright gold with a beige head and good lacing. Very attractive. Nose of light ripe persimmon and brett. Medium body and a smooth clean mouthfeel. Flavor is sour and tart, with earthy malts and lots of the persimmon. Very tasty. Finishes with some barnyard characteristics and as Dave suggested sort of like a saison. A winning beer.

Bomber from Hayduke. We had it together via facebook chat. I rolled the bottle before opening to dislodge the sediment. It poured hazy dingy golden and had a big almost white head. The aroma brought out brett and some lighter fruit. Brett was also tasted but it was not overdone. Fruit was the persimmon. Malts were rich and earthy. Later this kind of morphed into a saison with light brett. Ron has sent several from the Apocalypse series and they have all been interesting and unique. This is another one. Thanks Ron! blipp (9172) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAR 28, 2013
Draft. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Light lemony and a little tart, with a lightly sweet and bready malty base. Balanced and drinkable. drowland (8629) - Georgia, USA - MAR 22, 2013
3/21/13. 22oz bottle thanks to bitbucket OT-LOL garbage. The aroma and flavor on this puppy show brett and sweet persimmon with a touch of spice... not even remotely sour. Brett does not equal sour. Still tasty. ben4321 (6417) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - MAR 17, 2013

Aroma: The nose is light funky and somewhat sour, with some yeast, earth, fruit and a little brett
Appearance: This one pours a hazy gold-orange color with a thin film of white head and no lace
Flavor: The taste leans much more sweet, though there’s a sour/funky and a bit spicy backbone
Palate: The body is fairly light, but not watery, with a tingly carbonation, and a funky finish
First off, this one gets me to 11/12 of the series, which is a series I really enjoyed. I never saw #8 (Maelstrom Blood Orange Ale), but I’ll definitely keep an eye out as I’d love to complete the series. Anyway, as for this one, I thought it was solid for sure. I don’t know enough about persimmon to pick it out, but I assume it is there. It is also quite tingly on the mouth, which is something I’m generally not a huge fan of, but it works well here, and really seems to enhance the flavor profile of this beer. This may not be an ideal sour for everyone, as it a little too sweet, but I still found it to be a tasty beer.
Bottle. Pours orange. Nose and taste of wild yeast, lightly soured orange peel, milk sugar, light bread and light funk. Medium body. Mildly sour. Finishes with alcohol soaked persimmon.
