COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mortis will enwrap you in autumn coils of tartness and decay, with ripe Fuyu persimmons bringing the slightest blush to a pale ale fermented entirely with brettanomyces bruxellensis. German and Northwest wheat, pale and acidulated barley malt and a touch of C-45 Crystal combine with Fuggles hops to wrap things up dry, tight and tart, refreshing and satisfying. Mortis has set in just in time for Thanksgiving.

Thanks to 5000 for sending this bottle my way. The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is full of persimmon with some wheat thrown in. The flavor is similar. I get a lot of wheat, as well as some biscuit malt, orange and persimmon. There is a light amount of tartness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

(22oz bottle, courtesy of Mora2000) Pours a cloudy golden body with a medium white head. Aroma of persimmons, orange, and yeast. Flavor of persimmons, yeast, earth, subtle brett, and stone fruit with a dry finish.

Bomber. Pours nearly clear gold with a frothy but persistent head. Some fruit and funk in the aroma. Medium body, light carbonation. I’m not picking up a lot of persimmon or sourness. Just a little tart edge on top of fruit and spice and English hops. Dries out a bit at the finish. Interesting but not compelling.

Tap at Max’s Taphouse. Pours clear dark gold with a small, fizzy white head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is persimmon and biscuit malt, spicy alcohol and fruity esters. Flavor is malt forward with persimmon, light hops and bitterness with spicy alcohol, and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Tap at spuyten duyvil.. Pour is straw gold with thick fluffy head.. Aroma is Brett, sour apple, candied peach. Taste is slightly sour with peach, apple, vanilla. Light and carbonated.. Tastes like it almost went bad although freshly tapped. Average wild.

More of a fruit ale than a sour. A cloudy orange/yellow pour with a thin head. Much lacing, one might call it coating. Fruity peach like aroma. Flavour has much sweetness, peach flavouring. Sweet light finish

3.4
Gerbeer (3794) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 7, 2013
650 ml bottle. Pours a light clear amber with medium head. Aromas of oranges, light brett, and old socks. Flavors of honey, butter, wood, and a little vanilla. Can’t say it’s sour at all... OK
