Dark orange color with a large rocky white head. Sweet plant nectar and bready aromatics. Light alefruit and fruity honey flavors combine with a woodsy hop component. Lingering piney tinges in the finish, braced by residual sweetness that drops off quickly. Mouthfeel is medium-light, slightly dry.

UPDATED: NOV 10, 2015 22oz bottle. This was the second one and worked threw all 12 at the same time. A fun line up do do all at once. Pours out a orangeish amber topped with a small head. Nose is floral hop notes some earth tones and a little malt sweetness. Taste is more of the earthy and floral notes aswell as some of the heather.

Pours amber with some soapy white foam, near excellent clarity. Smells of pale malts with a hint of crystal. There’s a nice floral character I can only describe as slightly candy like. Almost a limy woodruff. It keeps me coming, so that’s cool. Flavor is slightly sweet and bready with a slight, again, tip of the tongue sorta thing here. It’s got plenty of flavors, but I can’t quite put my finger on the culprits. Medium on thick for the style with moderate carb and a semi slick finish. I had a taster of this previously, and wasn’t impressed, I’m glad I came back to revisit. Nice beer. This apocalypse series is 50/50 for me at this point having had the first four. Bottle:   Dirty amber, a little dark and dull, thin to moderate sudsy off-white head, spotty lacing.   Soft floral nose, a little herbal and soapy in a way.   A little prickly on the tongue, soft heather, little hop aspect.   Remains a bit herbal, slight earth tinge.   Seems like an American Pale that is light in hops, but has a floral and herbal nose that comes through very soft on the tongue.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   As it warms it gets a bit more towards an American Pale in the hop bitterness comes out a bit more.   When I think Traditional I think of Hair of the Dog Adam.   This is not that big, but interesting in its own right.   Finishes with a touch of floral and herbal aspects, perhaps a touch of lavendar.   I suppose there is also heather, but seems on the lighter side.   At least a little different from the norm.   Can’t shake that fancy soap stuff tho, especially on the tongue.

ROGUE (2215) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - APR 19, 2013
22oz bottle. Pours a clear, deep orangish amber with a white one finger head that has good retention. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, light citrus, light grapefruit and pineapple. Flavor is citrus hops, sweet malt, light fruit and a spicy herbal flavor from the heather. Finishes sweet, citrusy and some hoppy prickly bitterness. Medium bodied with some creaminess.

pours cloudy orange with a small white head that dissipates quickly, and very little lacing. smell is floral, a touch of spice, and a little malt. taste is smooth, a touch of caramel, lawn clippings, some spice, some sweetness, and a little citrus. ends a little creamy and somewhat bitter.

heather ale on tapat the bocktown monaca, nice place! Looks like pale lager with a pond scum head. Initially has a quite strong warming effect going down the throat. Almost flat. A little astringent in the persentation. Finish is medium medicinal alky linger. Can not really detect any spices in there which means it well designed.
