THOUGHTS: I dont know about noticing much distinct rosemary or agave, but this was a very nice IPA. There was sweet nectar up front and herbal hop bitterness in the finish. Perfect balance. Bonus point for being better than the sum of its parts. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a hazy dark yellow to light orange with an average, off-white head that mostly diminished and left fair lacing. The aroma had light cake, pale malt, cake icing and I guess agave sweetness; light herbal and citric orange hops; ever so slight alcohol; orange; apricot; peaches; and herbs (probably rosemary). The initial flavor was moderately sweet, lightly bitter and slightly acidic; while the finish was moderately sweet and bitter and lightly acidic with an average duration. There was honey, I guess agave nectar, a little bit of citrus hops, herbal hops, oranges, herbs, maybe rosemary, peaches and apricot. The medium body was dry with fizzy carbonation and a dry and slightly metallic finish.

22oz bottle from the cellar. This is a few years old however let's give it a shot. All the flavors are sort of melded. Given the age it's pretty average and nothing really stands out. A little sweetness and a little hop presence. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22oz bottle during the complete set tasting. Pours out a orangeish topped with a small head. Nose is agave citrus orange hop have faded a bit. I am sure this was more bright fresh. But thats the risk you take to try the complete set at once. Taste is more of the agave along with a citrus touch.

22 Oz bottle pour. Pours a copper orange color with medium head. Floral hops aroma. Medium bitterness hop flavor with sweet fruit mixed in. Probably a little better fresh, but other way this is good.

"Not getting rosemary per se, but a nice spicy ness in the aftertaste that seems to come from the ample hops, which also lend a citrus and tropical fruit aspect to the beer. Good mix of fruit, bitterness, and malt, great summer beer."

bottled: unk 5 of 12 of the Apocalypse series. Rosemary Agave IPA (w/lemon peel) Pours a light golden ale with etched white surface foam. Hazy. Smells of agave syrup, grain and some hints of lemon and rosemary. Getting herbed/spice beer, not IPA. Grain, bitter and lemon rind with some alfalfa. Not impressed. Medium on full bodied for the style and moderate carb. Dry finish. Not a winner for me. Serving type: bottle 06-13-2012

Elysian is one of the few brewers that never fails to put out a good product. I was a bit hesitant to try something with rosemary because it is a powerful herb, but I was not disappointed. The agave and the malt pair beautifully with the rosemary and the hops. Well done!
