2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
THOUGHTS: Very saison like in both initial sniff and sip, but then something changed. A stronger floral presence arrived in the aroma and then an odd bittersweet finish started to dominate the flavor. It was somewhat off-putting. It was sort of artificial and overly sweet at times.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, light amber with an average, fizzy, cream-colored head that almost fully diminished. The aroma had moderate caramel, pale malts and sugar water; moderate floral, perfume and herbal hops; moderate spicy and peppery yeast; and honey. The initial flavor was moderately sweet and lightly bitter; while the finish was heavily sweet and moderately bitter and acidic with an average duration. There was caramel, herbs and flowers, sugar water, syrup, floral and herbal hops, lots of spicy and peppery yeast, and honey. The medium body was rather and mostly syrupy then a little dry and sort of oily with very fizzy carbonation and a moderate to heavily astringent finish.
22oz bottle pours out copper topped with a small head. Nose is spice some rose floral notes a little lemongrass and grain. Taste is more of the floral notes spice touch of citrus and a nice end. tcon25 (910) - Duvall, Washington, USA - JAN 4, 2015
Bottle pour at home, thanks Andrew for sharing. Golden color with a fruit and spice aroma and tast. Good beer here, enjoyed trying this. andrewje41 (4087) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - JAN 4, 2015
22 oz bottle poured. Pours a copper color with a disappearing head. Sweet citrus and floral aroma. Floral flavor up front with a hint of spice. Citrus flavor present as well. The floral notes take over a bit. Fun, unique beer for sure. Flavor just comes off as a little odd to me. Low carb. Decent beer. harrymel (1551) - Spokane, Washington, USA - DEC 12, 2013
#6 of 12 beers of the Apocalyse - June
Label is interesting with a naked dude walking in a crater with what appear to be serpent sperm. I feel like the name and artwork infer somebody is infertile...
Hazy toasted gold with a sheet of fine white bubbles. The yeast comes up front in the nose, sweet grain and coriander with some clay like notes. The elderflowers are in here and initially are subdued and difficult to find through the yeast, but once the beer warms and opens up, it’s there and it makes me miss mamouche. Flavor - too much yeast! Wowza, very yeasty and creamy with sweetness and yeast. The elderflowers are more prevalent in the flavor, but the yeast is just soo overpowering it’s difficult to enjoy the elderflower flavor. Medium on heavy body with low carb and a thick creamy finish - not the way I like the body here. I really wanted to like this beer, but my mouth was overburdened here. Shitty because I really love elderflowers. Le sigh.

Bottle. Pours copper with a small off-white head. Aroma was yeasty & flowery with lemon and herbal hops. Flavor was sweet and malty with caramel, lemon, floral, herbs and had some fruitiness with a dry finish. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JUN 3, 2013
(22oz bottle) Pours a murky orange body with a small white head. Aroma of orange, florals, grass, lemon, and rosehips. Flavor of orange, florals, grass, herbs, pepper, and yeast. DavoleBomb (1867) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 25, 2013
Poured into a tulip.
2.5 A: Clear medium orange color. Two and a half fingers of fizzy, off-white head that falls quickly and leaves no lacing.
3.5 S: Quite impressed with the use of the elderflower in this. It comes through quite well and ends up in a perfect proportion with the rest of the beer. A nice floral/herbal vibe from it. Light caramel, light toastiness, and a mild earthiness. Not very funky and super clean. Moderate peppery yeastiness. It’s a pleasant nose, but overall it doesn’t do much to challenge the nose with complexity. Smells more like a Biere de Garde, but whatever.
3.5 T: Taste is like the nose. Simple, elegant, and tasty. Floral/herbal elderflower. Caramel, toast, earth, and peppery spiciness. Again, super clean.
4.0 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation with a light spritziness to it and a mild creaminess. Good here.
3.5 D: Not incredibly interesting, but the drinkibility is superb.

From a bottle poured a straw color with a fair amount of head. Light sweet malty flavor with a lingering aftertaste. BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JAN 1, 2013
Bottle. Pours with a hazed golden hued body with a small yet retentive white head. Aromas are of isoamyl acetate, vanilla, citrus and pineapple with a floral and herbal character that I assume is elderflower. Flavors are huge, hoppy, citrus, floral, tropical fruit, bubblegum, herbal, light grain. Lively carbonation with a dry finish.
