Orange-amber appearance with a flat head. Smells like fireball whiskey--spicy cayenne, cinnamon, and alcohol. The body follows through with the spicy cinnamon alcohol flavor with the added dimension of apple cider notes. BuckeyeBoy (7680) - Boise, Idaho, USA - NOV 19, 2015
22oz bottle number nine in the set. Pours out a dark amber topped with a sand head. Nose is bam cinnamon cocoa sweetness and some pumpkin. Taste is more of the cinnamon gingerbread roast malt cocoa. Wow this is good. Man Elysian kills pumpkin beers. andrewje41 (3887) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - OCT 16, 2015
I’m running out of these beers, and it’s a total bummer. Only 2 more beers of the apocolypse after this. So glad these have held up so well all this time, and would enjoy the hell out of it if I’m the last to ever rate this. Every time I think I’m doing something record breaking, I realize quickly that I am nowhere close. Maybe I’ll win this one. Pours a bright orange with an active fizz head. Aroma is like a cinnamon cookie. Snickerdoodle. Cinnamon spice flavor, slight apple, and pumpkin spice throughout. Bring this one back guys! Awesome. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAR 29, 2014
Deep amber color with an off white head. Loads of cinnamon, roasted squash, milk chocolate, gingerbread cookies. Enjoyable! harrymel (1551) - Spokane, Washington, USA - DEC 5, 2013
Beer 9/12 in the Apocalypse Series.
From the label: "Beer #9: BLIGHT will sustain you with an ale of pumpkin, dark brown sugar and a jolt of fiery Vietnamese cinnamon."
Amber with a solid sheet of light cream foam and excellent clarity. No lace. Lots of cinnamon, a bit of malt, but mostly cinnamon, cinnamon and som more cinnamon. Taste carries through with more cinnamon, and a good dose of malty character and some nice bits of sweet molasses. This reminds me of Cocoa Mole "Light". This is the best of all the pumpkin beers Elysian makes. They should replace the Night Owl with this recipe. Medium on full bodied with a nice soft carb and an off dry finish. Good beer. I will buy more.

On tap at Tangletown. Overwhelming cinnamon aroma. Flavor is also dominated by cinnamon. Otherwise, the flavor profile is the same as Night Owl, which I do love. I got a couple hints of alcohol burn. AirForceHops (7240) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 13, 2013
22 oz. bottles from Oliver’s Beverage Center, Albany, NY. This bottle is last season’s. Bottle stored properly in my cellar. Amber orange color in a snifter. Nose is really tempting. Cinnamon apples, yams and a light note of pumpkin. Flavor starts with the Apple cinnamon with yams, pumpkin and light caramel malts in the finish. 7.4 ABV is covered up totally. More fruits and spices rather than pumpkin, yet stil real flavorful. AmEricanbrew (6878) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - AUG 22, 2013
Bright amber color with ivory head. Big cinnamon, brown sugar, toast aromas. Light to medium body with average carbonation. Chai spice tea flavors of cinnamon, clove, brown sugar, with mild vegetal pumpkin--solid malty caramel base brew---tasty vlan1 (219) - Austin, Texas, USA - JUL 31, 2013
Very little head. Strong nose of Cinnamon and pumpkin. Almost like if Cinnabon made pumpkin cinnamon rolls. Very little head, pours your standgard amber color. Taste is more cinnamon than pumpkin. But not in a spicy burn your palate/throat like some other pumpkin beers. Very good. Very smooth mouthfeel, little carbonation. A very very solid beer overall. THOUGHTS: Tons of Cinnamon. Almost more of a cinnamon beer than a pumpkin beer. Very nice. Basically it tasted like cinnamon sugar toast with pumpkin better spread on it and them some cinnamon added in both the flavor and aroma.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, but slightly hazy, medium to dark, brownish orange or light orangey brown with an average, off-white head that mostly diminished. The aroma had toasted malts, caramel and cake; fruity and sour pumpkin; honey; brown sugar; maple syrup; mostly cinnamon; a little pumpkin, and pumpkin butter. The initial flavor was slightly sour, bitter and acidic, and lightly sweet; while the finish was moderately sweet, slightly sour and acidic, and lightly bitter with an average to long duration. There was pumpkin, lots of cinnamon, honey, cake, toast, caramel, maple syrup more cinnamon, brown sugar, and fruity and sour pumpkin. The medium body was very creamy with fizzy carbonation and a slightly dry finish.
