UPDATED: OCT 3, 2009 Smells very nice, of jasmine flowers! Surprise! Taste is smooth and also quite floral and has a great hop finish. Good stuff. Had again unknowingly and gave it a 4.6. Love this for early in the evening or morning.

From a 22oz Bottle. Pours a somewhat hazy, naval orange tinged golden color with a finger of soapy white head. The Jasmine flowers come through strongly in the nose, bringing an herbal tea-like dimension to the bouquet. Mild orange zest hops accompany softly. Medium-light bodied, mildly carbonated mouthfeel. Light caramel malt flavors with some orange zest and more tea. As the tea fades, some grassy hops become more apparent, lingering gently into the finish with a hint of earthy biscuit malt.

UPDATED: AUG 20, 2007 Draft at Elysian Fields in Seattle. Pours golden with a dissipating white head. Aroma of Jasmine, flowers, and sweet pale malts. Initial flavor is moderately sweet, with notes of bread, jasmine, biscuit, honey, and flower petals. This is not aggressively hopped for an IPA, but there is enough there to balance everything out nicely. I think all the flavors work together rather well. This is a unique and very enjoyable beer.

On draft at Elysian in Seattle 7/11/07. Golden pour witha big frothy white head. The most impressive thing about this beer is the unmistakeable big floral aroma from the jasmine, accompanied by some citrus and honey. Medium, smooth body with a slightly resinous tang as well. The jasmine is evident in the flavor as well, and overall it is a bit sweeter than most IPAs, with only a mildly dry finish. Unusual, but enjoyable in its own way, but wouldnt do everyday for me.

Tastes like an otherwise OK IPA, except that someone apparently spilled some perfume into it. A little bit of baby diapers in the finish. I couldnt even finish the sampler.

Courtesy boboski. Pours a cloudy dark orange, with some reddish hues, and a small, but well-retained off white head. Wow, the jasmine surely does make its itself nown in the aroma, really floral and pleasant. Really masks the hops in the aroma. The flavor is not much different. Really floral flavors with the hops showing up in the finish and lingerin in the aftertaste. They are subdued quite a bit, but give it enough balance to keep the floralness underwhellming. The finish is sweet, almost like your drinking nectar from a flower, while dancing in a meadow. "Not prancng, just dancing." What an unusual, but refreshingly interesting brew. Ive never had anything quite like it. Kudos.

Enjoyed this one on draught at Elaysian Fields, an Elysian Brewing outlet. They are not brewing there at the moment, but I saw they are setting up a brewing operation. This beer is a very unique and flavorful IPA, that really benefits from the use of jasmine. As stated in other reviews, you can really smell the jasmine in this beer and it is wonderful. This beer pours to a light, hazy, orange color, with a thick, creamy white head, and a good carbonation. Aromas of jasmine, citrus, and honey sweetness flood the nose. The jamine is unmistakable, and makes for a very pleasing nose on a beer. The palate is firm, with good pale and light caramel malt paired with the flavor of herbal taste of jasmine. This beer finishes with more good malt and jasmine flavor, then end with some flavors of jasmine, and some citrus hop bitterness that ties together the malty and herbal character of this beer very nicely. I was really impressed with this one, as I am with all the beers from Elysian. Very unique, aromatic, and flavorful beer. Well worth a try if you visit any of Elysians locations.

Orange in color, it emits a funky, grassy, metallic hop smell. Taste is neither good, nor consistent with an IPA. I will give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it tastes like jasmine. $4/22oz

Pours copper with potential for a giant white head (which I downplayed). Aroma is great on this beer, and probably the best thing about it. Incredibly floral, as youd expect, but theres a real nice white chocolate caramel sweetness as well. Wow, just very enticing and better smelling than lots of shampoos! Flavors are much better if the beers been out of the fridge for 15 minutes. Some bitter bread, white chocolate and caramel to the malt, but the nice floral aspect from the aroma touches the flavor nicely. Not right away though. Some citrus and bitter earth flavors in the finish and aftertaste. Im surprised the jasmine isnt as noticable here.. Mouthfeel and texture are unfortunately unremarkable and slightly thin. Worth trying.

22oz. Bottle (THANKS glkaiser): Medium sweet aroma. Smells a little floral, with scents of hops, lemon, jasmine, and a hint of spice. Poured an orange color with a medium-sized, off-white/yellow tinted, creamy, head that lasted throughout. Very good lacing. Very cloudy and opaque. Many floating particles. Flavor is lightly sweet though not really bitter. Tastes heavily of jasmine with a faint caramel malt backbone. Almost tastes like I am drinking jasmine incense. Medium body. Dry, chalky texture. Soft carbonation. Dry jasmine finish. How is this an IPA?
