Belgian-style Tripel. A twist on the French expression "Bete Noire", Bete Blanche is extremely drinkable, blonde and somewhat treacherous.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Hazy blond color; small creamy head. Light aroma of dirty water and banana. Dry mouthfeel, wheat flavor, light banana; the ending bitterness is a bit too strong. Atypical, not Belgian, but ok.

22 oz. bottle, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Spicy aroma, with fruits acting as secondary notes and a little yeast. Flavour is dominated by the spices, light fruits, with not much sweetness. A little muted flavours. Quite decent.

The new Bete Blanche is amber, with a slight haze, and not much head. Lightly phenolic and lightly malty aroma. Has some strength, a peppery spiciness, and a firm, slightly bready and slightly crackery malt character. Not exciting but functional.

Bomber from Harry & Davids in Medford, OR. Pours light orange gold with a foamy white head - but not much of a head. Aroma is lightly cooked caramel with some yeast/spice notes. There’s more than that, but hard to describe. Full bodied. There’s a lot of yeast/spice, but also there seems to be a lot of noble hop - not grass - more herb. The alcohol is detectable - seems to make figuring out the flavors difficult. Otherwise it’s ok. Finally it seems to go into light pitted fruit, kandi, and yeast/spice. Ending moderately peppery with all the other stuff. Extremely enjoyable.

Bomber poured a clear yellow with a lasting white head. Aromas of pear, pineapple, yeast, biscuit and light spice. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, straw, yeast, pear, spice and light pineapple with a smooth dry lingering spiced finish.
