At the brewery and from a take home growler. Pours golden amber with head and lace in a St Bernardus tulip glass. Aroma of rich malts. Medium carbonation and significant mouthfeel. Flavors of amber malts, caramel, medium grains & hops, slight Italian herbs, subtle alcohol. Overall rich, flavorful, and tasty enough from a flight of 5 to pick this one to get a growler.

Not very enthralling. A basic beer with some light hop. Not like a strong ale at all. Light bodied basic beer. Meh.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy medium orange/amber color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper/pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and citrus/earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and citrus/earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, fairly sticky, and slightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mildly warming 8.3%. Overall this is a very nice imperial amber ale style. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and citrus/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Nice well rounded complexities. Balanced Amarillo/Styrian Goldings hops with Munich/Crystal malts. A bit juicy feeling. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Grapefruit and orange citrus aroma with notes of earthy hops and a bit of caramel malt. Pours cloudy orange colored with a thin, but retentive off white head that also has good lacing. Starts with caramel malt and bright orange citrus flavors. Finishes dry, but quite smooth with earthy hops and grapefruit citrus flavors as well as a bit of citric acidity. Pretty nice winter warmer.

Taps hazy amber with a substantial buff head. Aroma offers malty, pomme and subtle piney hops. Flavor ramps up all of these, especially the hops, and adds a touch of spice. Mouthfeel presents decent body and peppy fizz. How 'bout them Vikings.

Pours medium golden and looks like a hazy lager. Nice white head like a snow capped mountain peak, which is great for this time of year in Montana. Good winter flavor. A bit malty with a nice winter warmer feeling. Tasty all around. Note the best flavor but just what you need for a winter warmer.

Nearly clear copper pour with a two finger, creamy white head. Aroma is pale malt toastiness, a little oily grain and a hint of pine and caramel. Flavor is woody malt, caramel, earthy, pine and herbal hops. Medium body, chewy feel, light to medium carbonation, off dry finish. OK overall, a little much on the grain oil taste.

Bottle pours a fairly clear golden orange with a one finger eggshell head and good lacing. Aroma is a green olive sweet catpiss citrus. Malty taste. Mild bitterness. Aftertaste lingers.
