A hazy amber beer with a light orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of hops, as well as lighter notes of alcohol and caramel. Draught at the brewpub. Hazy nut brown. Severely malty with tick and extremely syrupy mouthfeel. There’s plenty of grapefruity hops, but they drown in an ocean of syrup. Sticky bitter finish. Hazy amber color with thin head. Vanilla scented caramel, the aroma is very old school (American school). Sweetish but not syrupy, with good malt and toffee flavor; correct bitterness, with final hop resins.
Not an exciting Barley Wine, nevertheless a good strong beer.

Bottle from Malt & Vine. Likely quite fresh. Pours a ruddy copper with a slight off-white head. Aroma is quite malty/syrupy with just a touch of piney hop. Full bodied with mild carbonation. On tap @ Boulder Strong Ale Fest poured a clear copper with a small lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of fruittiness, carmel and light vanilla. Palate was medium bodied, smooith and dry. Flavors of carmel, fruittiness, light toffee and a hint of vanilla with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.
