COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed at the Elysian on Capitol Hill. a perennial favorite, brewed with Great Western pale, Crisp 77 Crystal, Munich, Cara-Vienne, roasted, chocolate and Special B malts with roasted pumpkin seeds in the mash. Pumpkin in the mash, kettle and fermenter. Bittered with Magnum and finished with Saaz and crushed cinnamon.

On tap at the Deli. Black with tan head. Aroma is roasty and chocolate. Flavor is roasty, chocolate, with a nice pumpkin finish. Delicious.

Aroma- some cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, roasted notes, some chocolate Appearance- virtually black with a very thin off-white head Taste- some chocolate, some pumpkin, slight vanilla, cinnamon, all-spice, earthy qualities, roasted notes Palate- decent body and mouthfeel, nothing to complain about Overall- Not bad at all but not as good as I thought itd be. Needed to be more radical IMO to be meaningful.

bottle thanks to ruddbudd. aroma is nice potent spice cinnamon, toasted pumpkin seeds, milk sugar. taste is creamy milk chocolate, some pleasant roast, milk duds, sweet pumpkin. clean. well made. dry. tasty. real nice.

Draft at blind tiger with Andrew. Pours a deep brown, nearly black body with thin brown lacing. Aroma is strong cinnamon, nutmeg, additional spices and deep coffee roast. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with notes of cinnamon, coffee, light chocolate and other spices. Very nice.

Bomber bottle poured a deep dark brown hue w/ a large creamy slowly diminishing brown head and excellent lacing. Aromas of dark chocolate, pumpkin, and roasted caramel. Flavors are well balanced, with a nice fresh pumpkin sweetness to go along with the dark chocolate, caramel, and roasted coffee with traditional pumpkin pie spices in the finish. Medium body. The flavor of roasted coffee is long lasting.

22oz bottle: pours an opaque black with a stringy-lacing froth of dark tan head. Has a lightly sweet biscuity malty nose with some light pumpkin notes and a touch of dark chocolate. Starts with good fullness and a rich dark malty sweetness with some dark fruity notes and chewy pumpkin flesh before a drier bittersweet finish with some lingering dark chocolate. Has a unique balance of dark malts and pumpkin flavor.

My kind of pumpkin beer! Love it with the stout treatment. Deep earthy pumpkin flavors, probably from the seeds? Dark roast bitter malts. Cinammon just on the nose. Not overspiced and definitely in the dry style. Think this is pretty much sold out around town, but gonna look for some more for a campfire this fall.

UPDATED: MAY 28, 2014 Pours dark brown with a brown coffee colored head. Sweet roasted malt aroma with chocolate notes and some spices. Sweet Roasted malt flavor with chocolate and pumpkin spice. Smooth.

On tap @ Founding Farmers. Poured a deep espresso with a medium tan frothy head and excellent lacing. Aroma includes roasted caramel malt, pumpkin seeds, bakers chocolate, tobacco, and plum. Taste begins with flavors expected from a stout being coffee beans, roasted malt, dark chocolate, and dark fruits, but then a note of roasted pumpkin soup sneaks in and blends perfectly. Wonderful balance of flavors, big mouthfeel, and very drinkable. Love this beer.

22 oz bottle. Dark brown with a frothy tan head. Nose is caramel, pumpkin and cinnamon with hints of red wine. Creamy medium body with a tang and a buzz. Taste is black coffee, mild chocolate and molasses, earthy pumpkin and cinnamon stick. As it warms the roasted seeds come out adding a smoky, nutty note. A nice change of pace from the usual over sweet spice brews but maybe too much on the dark side.
