COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed at our stadium location Elysian Fields brewery in Seattle. Brewed with organic pale, Weyermann Munich and Cara-Hell malts, with pumpkin added in the mash, kettle and fermenter. Spiced with peeled and pureed fresh ginger in the boil and bright tank and hopped with lots of Czech Saaz hops (otherwise it wouldn’t be traditional).

Bomber from Capones. Pale yellow with a white head that fades fairly quickly. Ginger (both ground and fresh rind), light pumpkin, very little spice (nice change). Mild body with huge ginger, moderate carbonation, light, ginger is the overwhelming flavour, slightly harsh ginger bite on the finish a bit of earthy vegetable on the finish too. If you like ginger you may like this - otherwise avoid.

Pours a hazy, bright golden orange color with golden straw colored edges and a 1.5 finger frothy white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lacing left behind. Spicy, slightly earthy aroma that smells more like a pilsner than a pumpkin beer. The ginger is very prominent however with a strong peppery presence that is nicely complimented by the grassy hop notes. As it warms, the pumpkin presence becomes more apparent but it’s still subtle, taking a back seat to the ginger, hops and sweet malt. Fuller bodied than expected with peppery ginger spice up front followed by earthy, grassy hops, sweet malt, pumpkin, and biscuit. The spicy ginger and floral hop flavors go really well together, providing a refreshing and unique take on the style. Underneath, there is a sweet caramel malt backbone with some biscuit, autumnal spice and sweet pumpkin. Similarly to the aroma, the pumpkin flavor is subtle but comes more to the forefront as it warms. Complex and full bodied yet refreshing and and easy to drink. This unique take on the style could have been a disaster but I’m pretty impressed with this beer.

Rated two nights ago as part of our annual pumpkin beer night. Bomber. Pours cloudy yellow-orange with a collapsing white head. My first impression after smelling this thing was that I was smelling a Corona and lime. Then I came to my senses and realized it was the ginger. Taste is very ginger-forward (the most ginger I’ve ever had in a beer I think). Starts out sweet and spicy from the ginger before turning extremely bitter mid-palate. Mouthfeel is creamy. Very interesting and I’m glad I tried it, but it’s a try it once and never have again type of beer.

Real hazy. Harsh, dry, fibrous and woody nose. Some sweet, bright tingles, super hot and fresh ginger flavour. This COULD be the best HOTDog ever. Medicinal. Oops. I forgot that this was a pumpkin beer. Ginger pilsner maybe...

22 oz. bottle- Pours light hazy golden with a small ring of foam. The aroma is ginger, not getting much pumpkin, maybe a little. The taste is ginger again, there is a sweetness to it, kind of vegetal, but not all that pumpkin, imparts a dryness after the swallow. Overall have had better, was hoping for more pumpkin and less ginger, but I did still like it.

Tried at Snallygaster Fest in D.C. Golden color with white head. Light pumpkin spice aroma. Some caramel flavor followed by pumpkin spice flavors and some hops.

22oz bottle courtesy of a friend in Seattle. Slightly cloudy melon orange. Thin head of big and tiny white bubbles that mix in a creamy layer. Bright ginger aroma with hints of raw pumpkin. Flavors of strong ginger spiciness that has the same effect as crisp hops (which are also present) - cleaning the palate. Light sweetness in the finish. Really interesting and tasty. This beer wows me because it is very different and also of very high quality. I’m also excited any time I find a beer with this much flavor and sub 5% alcohol. Very impressive product.

Bomber. Orange color with no head. Mega ginger aroma which is not my favorite spice. Flavor is dominated by ginger and then the saaz kick in and transition nicely. Finish is a little bitter, but some malt comes through.

Bottle. This beer was terrible. Slightly cloudy, dark gold color. No head, no lace. Smells like a ginger scented candle. Taste....awful.
