This beer really grew on me. I hated it at first, then as I drank it the more flavors started coming out. Aroma was weak and a little broing. Light pilsner malt was all that I could detect. Pour was a nice hazy light yellow with a one finger white head. Taste was delicious. One of the better session beers I’ve had in a while. Starts with the sweet pilsner malt in the beginning which quickly gives way to spicy ginger. The ginger dominates the flavor until the hops kick in and bring the gulp to a bitter finish. The aftertaste is a mix of bitter noble hops and ginger. No pumpkin is detected. The mouth is actually left tingly from the ginger and heavy carbonation. Great surprise! Thanks to 5000 for sending me this bottle. Really didn’t know what to think of this one, but I liked it. Pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is very heavy on the ginger with some pilsner malt thrown in. The ginger also dominates the flavor. There is a bit of pilsner malt. I get a slight amount of bitterness from the hops but no real hop flavor. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Nice. bigguns22 (800) - Maryland, USA - JUL 28, 2013
You better like ginger because this is a ginger bomb more ginger then anything. Poor is very pleasing cloudy yellow with a large white, bubbly head that sticks to glass. Has the ginger heat and will marry well with sushi or any other lite fish. Couldn’t drink many but very good for what it is. Dogbrick (13389) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 28, 2013
Sample at Kurtkeller 001: Pumpkin-tastic 01 on 11/22/2013. Pours a hazed yellow color with a medium thick bubbly white head that evaporates gradually. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of ginger and malt. Light-bodied with lots of ginger flavor up front, along with some toasty malt and hops behind it. The finish is akin to ginger ale with a spiced aftertaste. Decent overall. thenick (766) - North Bellmore, New York, USA - OCT 15, 2009
Tap @ Blind Tiger. Pours a hazy golden-amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is heavy ginger with a bit of earthy notes thrown in for good measure. Tastes like a straight pilsner, with a grain characteristic and some Saaz hops, in the beginning, and the finish is heavy heavy on the ginger. I enjoyed it - but avoid if ginger is not your thing.

Snallygaster, draft. Lightly hazed apple juice body, small white head. Aroma is medium sweet, pumpkin pie, some straw. Taste is medium sweet, spicy/lager yeast, some straw, ginger. Light body, light acidity. JulienHuxley (5875) - Sherbrooke, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 23, 2012
UPDATED: OCT 24, 2012 On tap at Churchkey. Clear yellow pour with white head. Aroma is quite dominated by ginger, some pumpkin pie notes, cinnamon, hints of fresh grain. Taste is light and spicy, lots of cinnamon. Palate is light and moderately carbonated. Fun and original. jeff789 (1408) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 28, 2012
golden with a smaller white head decent lacing... nice big ginger aroma, bold... flavor is very much ginger with a little spice underneath, followed by an abrupt finish pilsener style... medium thin body easy drinking except for the harshness of the ginger finish... blushing_crow (12) - Renton, Washington, USA - OCT 31, 2012
This beer smells very good, nice scent of ginger. Appearance is a nice golden color. The taste is very overwhelmingly of ginger and leaves a strong ginger aftertaste. Not bad but not favorite. pdx77 (1483) - Oregon, USA - OCT 31, 2012
Tap at Green Dragon. More ginger than any beer I’ve had...including ginger beers. Spicy and yummy.
