2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
THOUGHTS: Holy Cow! That was a ton of ginger. Both in flavor and aroma. Maybe not the best pumpkin beer around, and maybe not even a good pumpkin beer, but it was a wonderful beer if you love ginger. It was a little too much ginger for me, but only by a little. The spicy hops blended wonderfully with the ginger.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a hazy, light, dirty, yellow that wound up looking like it had a lightly green tint. It also had a large, ever-so-slightly, off-white head that mostly diminished and left good lacing. The aroma was fresh and clean and contained ginger, and mostly ginger — almost perfume like, but slightly soapy, too. The initial flavor was slightly sweet and lightly bitter; while the finish was lightly sweet and moderately bitter with an average duration. There was a little pale malt, mostly ginger, some spicy hops that blended right into the ginger, and slightly sour pumpkin when warmer. The light body was somewhat dry and hot on the tongue with sort of soft but tingly carbonation and a dry and sort of metallic finish with heat from the spices.
Pours a hazy, bright golden orange color with golden straw colored edges and a 1.5 finger frothy white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lacing left behind.
Spicy, slightly earthy aroma that smells more like a pilsner than a pumpkin beer. The ginger is very prominent however with a strong peppery presence that is nicely complimented by the grassy hop notes. As it warms, the pumpkin presence becomes more apparent but it’s still subtle, taking a back seat to the ginger, hops and sweet malt.
Fuller bodied than expected with peppery ginger spice up front followed by earthy, grassy hops, sweet malt, pumpkin, and biscuit. The spicy ginger and floral hop flavors go really well together, providing a refreshing and unique take on the style. Underneath, there is a sweet caramel malt backbone with some biscuit, autumnal spice and sweet pumpkin. Similarly to the aroma, the pumpkin flavor is subtle but comes more to the forefront as it warms. Complex and full bodied yet refreshing and and easy to drink. This unique take on the style could have been a disaster but I’m pretty impressed with this beer. slowrunner77 (13205) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 2, 2014
"i’m not sure what the deal was here...the first half of the description sounds exactly like the GP ale, but this was far more boring, and the 50 50 ginger pumpkin balance in the other beer was more like 90-10 in this one. i like ginger but the pumpkin needed to come out more here. but overall, a nice little pilsner. could go the way of the spiced ale too, but you could definitely tell it was a pils." Nasty. Nasty. Nasty. Tastes like the worst ginger ale you can imagine. Drain pour. Just awful. Beerdedone (3480) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 27, 2014
Bottle. Pours a hazy orange yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of heavy ginger, toast, and light citrus. Flavor of strong spicy ginger, pale malts, citrus and was lightly bitter. A ginger bomb

Bottle. This beer was terrible. Slightly cloudy, dark gold color. No head, no lace. Smells like a ginger scented candle. Taste....awful. shadey (2171) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 30, 2013
22oz bottle courtesy of a friend in Seattle. Slightly cloudy melon orange. Thin head of big and tiny white bubbles that mix in a creamy layer. Bright ginger aroma with hints of raw pumpkin. Flavors of strong ginger spiciness that has the same effect as crisp hops (which are also present) - cleaning the palate. Light sweetness in the finish. Really interesting and tasty. This beer wows me because it is very different and also of very high quality. I’m also excited any time I find a beer with this much flavor and sub 5% alcohol. Very impressive product. merc7186 (3160) - North Tonawanda, New York, USA - DEC 19, 2013

Bomber from Capones. Pale yellow with a white head that fades fairly quickly. Ginger (both ground and fresh rind), light pumpkin, very little spice (nice change). Mild body with huge ginger, moderate carbonation, light, ginger is the overwhelming flavour, slightly harsh ginger bite on the finish a bit of earthy vegetable on the finish too. If you like ginger you may like this - otherwise avoid. Dogbrick (14309) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 28, 2013
Sample at Kurtkeller 001: Pumpkin-tastic 01 on 11/22/2013. Pours a hazed yellow color with a medium thick bubbly white head that evaporates gradually. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of ginger and malt. Light-bodied with lots of ginger flavor up front, along with some toasty malt and hops behind it. The finish is akin to ginger ale with a spiced aftertaste. Decent overall.
