Like a nice Hawaiian Sunburn, this brew packs a little heat and a little sweet, backed by a tart, refreshing finish.

Bottle thanks to one of the cousins from the barrio - nose is metallic sulfur lemon zest. Sip adds light jalapeño, some tropical fruit and light salt. Agree with prufrocker (sp?) in that expectations matter. Hawaiian sunburn calls to mind pain from heat. The heat in this is mild at best. Expectations aside, this is not that bad: lingering, albeit light, heat, juiciness and salt come together to recreate a specific experience. Maybe the sunburn is on a person who doesn’t get bad sunburns due to genetics but I digress. After inspection the label, the person on the right has what must be a severe case of we call in KY a farmer’s tan. This one looks like it would hurt.

On tap at ADT. Clear yellow with a thin white head. Pineapple aromas, juicy fruit flavors with grain and wheat. Fairly light with a mild fruity finish. Did not find any peppery heat.

Sampled from the tap at the Happy Gnome. Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has tart light pineapple with a bit of sweet grains underlying. Flavor is similar with light tart pineapple, a touch of tropical fruits and a light sweet grain backbone.

lots of haze. Almost no nose. Very little flavor and lacks much flavor. Super boring for what it is.

12 oz bottle. This one gets a bad rep but I really thought it was pretty good. Lots of points for originality.

Elysian Brewing has done a great job here. A good hint of pineapple with a nice habanero note toward the end.

The smell is a little funky, slight pineapple, beautiful light blonde color...too bad the color is the best part of this beer. The taste is tart but now sour enough. The habanero is very weak...not a good beer.

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2016 Bomber to cup. Pineapple, some skunky pepper aroma. Golden orange, pineapple colored, tiny floating white particles, doesn’t seem like yeast. Sweet but pithy weak pineapple front, dry peppery flavor that is pleasant, not spicy, lingers in your throat.

Pours a bright golden yelow with a thin white head. I couldn’t taste any pineapple, habanero, or sour flavors. Pretty ordinary and Blah. Not nearly as good as it sounds.
