persimmons, curry, and brett...what a unique brew. props to both brewers for the stones to try a beer like this. maybe not for everyone, but i thought it was quite good. too many flavors going on to elaborate on. quite sour, but not bracingly so. definitely worth a try."

Pours a dark ruby-red with a foam ring and delecate lacing. Sour aroma, cherry pie. Nice! Confusing taste - lots of starch from the persimmon. Bile? Not too sour, with a touch of bitterness. Really odd beer imo. The nose is of brett, spice, flowers with an ever so slight tartness. The pour is brown with a nice big head. Lots of funk initially, fruity, spicy. Draft at Strange Brew. Murky, nearly opaque brown with a surging, creamy tan head. Mildly fruity nose, sort of cherry-nectarine. Creamy medium body. Light fruity funk there as well, but not nearly as much funk or sour as you’d expect from both lacto AND brett. Mild, clean, and drinkable. UPDATED: JAN 14, 2009 12 oz schooner at the Elysian Fields brewpub. Pour is slightly hazed ruby brown with a smallish tan head. Thick lacing left behind. Aroma of faint earthiness and sour. Taste is really different, a lot of earthy leafiness (the curry perhaps), persimmon, slight smoky roastiness, elements of sour and barnyard. This is not a sour beer per se, but it has a nice edge to it. Palate is medium, drying with a lasting finish. Interesting, though would like the yeast to be more expressive.
