Bottle thanks to Ben! Pours a clear amber orange with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of earthy pine hops with a bit of dankness and backing grapefruit and sweet bread. Flavor begins with grapefruit and pine that has a growing resinous note and a hint of a grain backbone. kp (10882) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - MAY 20, 2012

Bomber. Pours clear deep copper with 3-finger creamy off-white head and copious lace. Looks great. Nose is that great citric feety passion fruity Nelson Sauvin hop, some caramel malt. Tastes very resiny, bitter, and with the characteristic NS hop flavor, with caramel malt, and finishing resiny notes. A lot of late passion fruit. cubs (10635) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - FEB 19, 2013
Bottle @ home picked up at Wilbur’s Foco. This beer is now named Savant IPA, so that should be aliased here. Pours a hazy, bright, deep reddish orange appearance with a cream colored head. Fruity, grapefruity, white grape, citrusy, somewhat spicy, fairly potent hoppy, light ganja aroma. Quite spicy and floral hoppy, somewhat piney, big grapefruity hoppy, mildly sweet malty flavor with some herbal, bitterness on the finish. Another solid Elysian IPA, though I don’t think I enjoy it as much as some of their others. DuffMan (10429) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 15, 2013
Bottle, shared with Parksy. Hazy orange amber, lively off white head. Juicy hop profile, sweet tropical fruit with resinous notes. Bright and tasty, moderately bitter. Really good.

651mL. Pours clear orange topped by rocky buttermilk foam. Sweet Mayan onion nose with orange candy drops. Taste is butterscotch candy with mild sweet onion and buttered sweet rolls. Palate is slicker with nutty bitterness. Not bad. No offensive diacetyl. Odd hop bill. Finishes tannic and dry. Slight tea leaf character.

22oz bottle, thanks to parents. Poured in snifter. Interesting hop flavor - resin, tropical fruit, orange, pineapple. Seemingly big malt present, but it works well with the hops. and is less caramelish than usual - maybe bready, some pepperiness. Some grapefruit in the aftertaste. Super smooth carbonation. More dry texture. Very easy to drink, great to wash a sandwich down with. Medium body, totally hazy amber color. Off-white khaki head that leaves great lace all around. Great bigger bitter taste, little sweetness in the finish. Very enjoyable, interesting, and sessionable single-hop IPA. My first showcase of the NZ Nelson Sauvin. Love getting educated. arminjewell (9664) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - MAR 17, 2013
I believe this is now called Savant IPA...pour is hazy orange with white head, aroma brought big notes of white fruits, pine, grass, some grapefruit, bitter orange peel, some slight caramel, toffee, slight earth, spice notes. Taste is a mix of lots of bitter orange, grapefruit, some slight pine, grass notes, hints of earth, grain, spice into some caramel, just slightly getting off the bitter notes, finishing bitter. Wish I got more of the Nelson hops, but its very tasty, good mouthfeel. onceblind (9663) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 31, 2013
Clear copperish amber with a thick foamy off-cream head. Sweet and sticky nose of grapefruit rind and oranges, with passion fruit and a touch of pine resin and caramel, with a slight biscuitiness. Flavor is citric and bitter with a bunch of orange rind, some slight grapefruitiness, floral bitterness, some sweet mango/tropical undertones, and a sweet caramalty body that still lets the hop bitterness shine through very well. From a bomber. Beautiful bright orange pour with a thick rocky white head. The aroma is gorgeous. Bright tropical fruit, grapefruit and some juicy fruit aroma over a lovely rich pale malt base. A touch of spice that rounds out the sweeter fruity notes on the back. Bright and zesty with a distinct whiff of peach as well. Awesome stuff.
