This beer is absolutely fantastic! Iím bummed it will only be available for a limited time. The big hoppy passionfruit aroma and flavor is well balanced with a substantial malt profile. Hoppy AND balanced is the way forward if you ask me. Elysian did a killer job with this one hop Nelson Sauvin wonder liquidhedonism (289) - Beaverton, Oregon, USA - FEB 26, 2015
22 oz bottle. Aroma: citrusy and malty, with hints of pineapple, bread, and barnyard. Taste/Palate: creamy; starts sweet, and finishes with a long bitterness. msylvanus (3) - USA - SEP 11, 2010 does not count
For my preferences, this is a nearly perfect beer, with Pliny the Elder being the standard-bearer. As such this reminds me greatly of the Elder, though with a slight advantage of tasting less alcohol. At Parkway Tavernís IPA Fest, 28Sep2010. DipHead14 (26) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 28, 2014
Smells like apple juice, and has a solid amber color. The flavor is very juicy, and highly acidic, like malic acid found in Green Apples (used to make sour candies), but with sort of a sweet cover. It ends up smelling and tasting a lot like candied apples. It also has a flowery smell and taste underneath, coming off like like the leaves of an apple tree. As you can probably tell, this is a very interesting, and very complex beer. Overall it is, very fresh, and easy to drink. sea206 (3) - Washington, USA - FEB 16, 2013 does not count
Definite passion fruit aroma, then full hoppy bitterness in the middle. Excellent, everything I hope for in an IPA.

Powerful fruit and citrus aroma, reminding me of candied apples. The nose immediately draws you in to the beer. It is a slightly hazy orange amber. The malt is complex but overall sweet. Caramel, toffee and earthy notes give way to piney hop flavors, finish astringent and dry. Bitterness is lasting but not overwhelming. West coast IPA brewers should definitely learn from the malt complexity. Hell, Elysian should learn how to translate this to their other brews! This beer is fantastic. Pours a hazy orangish copper with a frothy white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, caramel, guava, passionfruit and mango. Taste is a nice caramel malt base, tropical fruits, mango, passionfruit and a nice semi dry wine like finish. Absolute pleasure to drink! Alphadelic (2235) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 30, 2011
Deep amber, Fresh, piney, vinous hops and caramel malts mingle on the nose. Perfectly hoppy, spicy, earthy and fruity with a glorious bitterness. Peppery, easy-to drink, Orange oils and a little grapefruit. Peas? Nasturtiums? Sorry for the rather schizophrenic review. tiggmtl (4545) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 14, 2012
UPDATED: JUN 10, 2012 Very floral and citrus hop nose with a surprising malt backbone. Clear deep copper coloured body is topped by a generous and lasting white head that coats the glass with lacing. Nice caramel and toasted malt backbone supports citrus and floral hop flavours. Moderate bitterness keeps the sweetness in check but isnít overly strong. Medium body with decent SPF bubbled carbonation. Lovely palate. Enjoyed on tap at Alibi Room. Not re-rating, but in the bottle I didnít enjoy this nearly as much. It seemed a bit thin and one-dimensional. I would have rated the bottled version (from Liberty - Commercial in June 2012) as much as a full point lower. gregwilsonstl (2466) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUN 23, 2012
Cloudy dark copper. Citrus. Unique spicy hops. Very hoppy in every stage from aroma to aftertaste, but balanced.
